Where did you find a source formulating the he was the god of wisdom? Wikipedia, Britannica don't use that expression when it comes to Apollo, that is reserved for Athena.

I just had my 3rd question rejected in a row with "This question is already part of the database" though I do believe non of those question are actually in there, so I believe they were actually rejected due to "to many in the category"

After looking through the "Quiz evaluation rules and updates" and "Quiz: the aspects of evaluation" threads I found that one of the three was in a category specified to be rejected for to many of that type, but I have not been able to find the other two.

This leads me to the main point of this post: It would be nice to have a central place to check for types of questions that will be automatically rejected due to to many of that kind of question. This will save both the poster and the evaluaters time, as well as a whole lot of frustration.

Can someone please tell me what's ambiguous about this one? I know metaphysical can mean other things in addition to the supernatural, but among those 4 answers this one is the only one in any dictionary I have ever seen.

So this makes your answers ambiguous since a certain study of the physics of space and the human body can be metaphysical.

I did not say the studdy of space or the studdy of the human body. The metaphysician uses metaphysics to describe those things, as opposed to (or sometimes in addition to) using physics to do the same.

As an excample we have ley lines, and magnetic field lines around the Earth. The 1st are metaphysical the second physical, but both tries to describe properties of the world.

FriendlyCheese, my guess would be that "athletics" includes the other sports.
wasn't he better known as an aviator than an athlete?

I could possibly think of the following reasons...

1. He is really better known as an avitor. Probably, the quiz master thought something connected with avia should be an answer? (although, no).
2. What does it mean "do a sport"? I could do soccer with my friends on Saturdays, but I will not be known for this... Probably, should be asked "which sport did he achieved best results in?"
3. As far as I could understand from http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roland_Garros (I only know French a little), he was a good bycicle rider and also did some tennis. But there is no such answer... So, another restriction could be "of these sports..."

Finally, I come to "Of these sports, for success in which is Roland Garros, an aviator, is known?". But now it sounds just not good and too dull. Although, maybe it gives some idea?

The fact is that when they named the club it was decided it must be named after one of those who had played on the grounds previously when it had been a rugby field and who had died in the last weeks of WWI. Roland Garros was the choice. The stadium was named after him as he had been a rugby player, despite his later aviation success.

But 2nd, I have to defend wiki a little (although I never trust it 100%). The page I've cited above does mention rugby - but along with cycling and tennis. Maybe that's the confusing issue... Having your question in quiz, I would first checked info on a person, and probably would find info similar to wiki. If you dig deeper, the perfect fact you've just showed to me appears - but you have to know where to dig

So... before going to bed finally I have another idea, maybe stupid. What if rewrite the question as smth like "RG club was named after a famous aviator because of him having done which sport?" IMHO this preserves the trivia, but makes it a bit easier to find out...

It was rejected for "Spelling Mistakes". Clearly whoever judged this thinks that "parson" is a spelling error for "person", which it is not - a parson is a type of clergyman or cleric. So I have resubmitted this, and I hope whoever is judging it this time reads here first.
