What did a shepherd boy discover at Qumram, Jordan in 1947 ?

Dead Sea Scrolls
Book of the Dead
Rosetta Stone
Ten Commandments

The question is valued as "Bad, incorrect question"!
Spelling mistakes in question or answers.

I enjoy both the hunt as well as developing interesting and easy questions. This is one of the reasons I continue to play the game, now on the other hand your evaluators continue making these types of mistakes and cause the player aggrevation. I have taken notice not just in mine but in the survey you provide there have been quite a few mistakes by your evaluators.

I believe Qumram is spelled wrong. It should be Qumran.
Minor spelling, but you don't loose the question. You can resubmit.

I know that Venus is the hottest planet in our Solar System.

Perhaps you should change warmest to hottest?

Warm implies a comfortable temperature, and thus may have been the cause of rejection.

I put this question in the quiz and it has been rejected due to a spelling error. I would like to know where the spelling error is. I know that it is not in the answers because they are all numbers, so it has to be in the question somewhere, either that or (The more likely) the person checking it is seeing an error where there is none, as I typed this question into my WordPerfect 12 Document which I have set to auto check for spelling errors, and it isn't finding any either.

I finally got a good question and now that i can ask another one i notice that my good question is now bad? And the reason being is it said 75% of the people couldn't find the answer. What in the world is thier search engine that this question can not be figured out.

What is considered to be the oldest animal ever?
1-clam
2- alligator
3-sperm whale
4-cockroach

Now i have typed this question into google,IE,wickipedia,answers.com and a few others and it all comes up with 1 answer. The answer mind you i will not tell but can tell you the right answer is over 400 years old. So can anyone tell me why it cannot be found?

sorry I just checked again and it now says more than 75% of people got it wrong
Which shows how useful a difficulty setting would be...

Twink,
After reading others past posts, the only thing I can assume, is that they are taking "Movies Worldwide" as being "misspelled".

Try with these being non-capitalized instead.

NFL - The Arizona ______?

Jays
Thrashers
Cardinals
Ravens

Are we really going to have this fight again on this new server? I answer questions that are important to you. Therefore you can answer questions that are important to me. I don't give two shits about Victor Hugo - but I answer them. Don't block my damn questions when they are 100% correct, easily researchable, and common knowledge for THIS area of the world.

If I have to answer Eurocentric questions, then you better allow me to ask Amerocentric questions.

Deal?

A part of me agrees completely...

Another part thinks:

Yes this is an English server, but not all native English speakers are from..... The United States.
Ok, now that that has been defended;
Let's jump back.

Whomever "Evaluates" these questions on the English server should change his/her/their evaluation methods.

If the question can be easily answerd by using the first page results of Google, Yahoo Search, or....(am I really going to type this?)
Bing

Then the Question should be allowed.

Better yet.
How about appointing select active players from W1 and W2 to a "Quiz Evaluation Committee"?

Hold a test for members who would like to be a part of this committee to take; which require them to investigate the answers.
If they pass and are still active a certain amount of time after taking this test.... they are allowed access to a database of the submitted questions to revue.

Inactivity of said players that have been appointed, or those that fail at doing the research once they have been appointed (aka: their JOB), are ejected from The Committee.

That is my "two cents" on the matter.

Your "question" is hardly a question. It's 2 nouns, one abbreviated, and a conjunction.
Try it as an actual question. That would be a sentence of inquiry that asks for a reply.

Also, as was previously stated in one of the threads, the database is the same for both worlds.

Sorry, but that's horsecrap. Turning it into a question would only confuse the issue. Tell me that this would be rejected:

Scientist - Albert ______?
a) Glickstein
b) Einstein
c) Rhinestein
d) Jacobstein

It's the same structure, but because Einstein is European, this would be approved in seconds.

When I quit World 1 over this, I was pissed - but when World 2c came out, I was hoping the producers of this GAME would realize that they are producing a global game for the English-speaking market.

Dismissing easily discoverable answers, based purely on geography, is racism - pure and simple.

That would probably be rejected for the same reason.

It would not confuse things to change it into a question. I have seen several of them myself. The latest one I remember was: Which city has the NFL team "Colts"?

If you don't want the advice on how to get your questions accepted, why bother to post? Many of the players around here want to see you get your SE reward. We want to see the database get better. We are trying to help.

I agree with Gemini....

Getting upset over these things I can understand...

But, it does no good ranting about how angry you are.

It's the players...in the end, that "make a game."

Without us, it would fail.
Time, good intentions and supporting others ideas are a few things needed in order for aspects of the game to be changed....

Creating angry posts is not an ideal way of speeding things along.

You guys don't get it. Any type of European questions, regardless of how obscure, tend to get approved. N.American sports questions, regardless of simplicity/complexity, tend to get rejected.

It's not "how the question was phrased". It's prejudice - pure and simple.

Like I said, I was hoping that the Admins of World 2 would have a better understanding of the global nature of its participants - this obviously isn't the case.

No...I get you, Viri...

Really, I do.

But....the Admins are just..."Overseers".....guards of the inmates...

It's up to the Warden (Game Developers) to "allow some trustees to mind the store."

In other words...yelling at them doesn't help.
