The question was something like: Which was dose a compass point under normal conditions? North, South, East, or West

The question answer is North. But that is incorrect. A compass is use to tell which way is north, but the magnetite in a compass needle points to the positive pole. A Magnetic metal's molecules all line up due to it's polarity. Magnetic north is infact the southern pole, and since you know where magnetic north is you know where magnetic south is, the north pole.

So to recap the molecules are attracted to the south pole and point as such. The part on a compass that points north is just and indicator to see where that direction is.

The question needs to be changed or deleted due to the writer's lack of knowledge. Thank you
