The time has come, the map event will start again soon! You can register for 1 week, if you are at least level 2, in the Misc menu, clicking on the map.

The event will start on 6th of Dec, 2010, Monday, 15pm GMT+1 (9am EST).

You can register until the start, you CANNOT register after the event has begun. The event itself lasts for 30 days.

This is a competition, you can join one of the 4 teams. The winner team gets the most powerful relic, the 2nd gets the next etc. Under the map menu, you find a detailed description.

For those who participated in the previous event, I list the changes:

1.) You CANNOT register after the event has begun. Registration period is 7 days. Entry fee gets more expensive with each day passed.
2.) There is no limit to the number of players in a team like previously. But during registration, you don't see the number of participants.
3.) During the event, those who already won get a handicap. Those who won a golden prize get a 0.8x multiplier to map finding chance, those who get a silver get 0.9x, those who get a bronze get no modifier, those who didn't win get a 1.1x multiplier.
4.) At the huckster, you see a team power number, this is an indication of average power of those who registered so far, and relies on number of Apts, Dpts, and Apt and Dpt regeneration rate, plus possible handicap multiplier.
5.) Climbing skill does not modify the map finding chance. Instead, there is a map finding skill, and the soul-huckster will sell a Wand of map-finding soon which can increase the chance as well.
6.) The chance to find a map piece still depends on the team number, and is modified by the handicap multiplier.
7.) One of the relics have been replaced.
8.) If you collect a given number of map pieces (50-80, depending on team number), you will get a better grade prize than your team (unless you are already first).

I have been told that joining AGNAESH is pointless if you are with a clan that has many active builders and expects to be on the top of the tower of power a lot ... because the hunting bonus does not stack with tower of power. Even so, i might think about it, but this revelation saddened me

Once the event starts, will this number be shown somewhere? If not, is there a way for us to calculate it before the event ends? Knowing this information could make a difference for some people.

thats with the wand and the multiplier for not having a map relec previously

well the wand gives you 0.5% bigger chance. That is 1.5 map pieces per 100 hunts or 3 per 200 hunts:)

Evidently. It says I need 104 pieces. Which, last I checked, was not within the range of 50-80... I thought 50 might be achievable, if I spent for the boosters. 100 is just ridiculous.

The chance to find pieces is determined by the your group.
Seeing as you need 104 pieces, you probably have more than double the chance to find a piece as the people who signed up for Marietta, the charming, who has the most members and therefore only needs 50 pieces. The reason your number is higher than previously estimated by Milkos is the large difference between the number of members that signed up for each huckster.
Of course, if you already have a map event relic/are high level, your chances are supposed to drop a bit again.

It has the most players, but is almost last, and of all the pieces they have, i have found over 20%.

They did promise they wouldn't change things midway this time, so it'd be odd if the total amount needed changed...

Correct. I currently have 15 pieces and it says I need 77 more (making 92). When I had 5 pieces, it said I needed 99 more. I did level up in there somewhere, but I can't swear to the timing.

I don't remember them making any promises. That would seem out of character for them.

Okay .. world 3... If i have this many, and we have the most players, and we are in last place... what are the rest doing?

after having spend wwell over 200 AP and 50 duel points i still have zero map pieces.

I have the map finding skill at lvl 15 and am lvl 41 atm so that should not be abproblem. This is my first time joining the event, so my chances of finding map pieces should be greater then if this would have been my second try at it.


so is my character bugged or something? or am i just this rediculously unlucky to still have not found a single piece?

You can find pieces by:

-winning duels
-winning challenges
-hunt - note: only the correct quiz answer's hut counts

A further update to this issue. The number of map pieces required for a higher level reward is now 90 for me (I have 45 + it says I need 45 more). I have not leveled up in the interim. As long as that number keeps going down, I guess I'm ok with it. But it better not ever go up. And I'd definitely prefer if they just kept the same number, or explained in advance what conditions affect the number.

We are launching a new map event now. There will be changes based on player feedback:

1.) You can change up to 2 times, and no later than 1 week before the end of the event. During the first change you lose 15% of your map pieces, during the second, 30 percent. The team you leave gets this amount (not 100, as before!) and the team you join gets the same amount.

2.) If you collected 50 (or a modified value of 50) piece, you get one better reward. Now we expand this, if you collect 100, you get 2 grades better, if 150, three grades better (but you still get platinum only if you had a gold already previously).

3.) There was a negative handicap multiplier to finding probability if you had several rewards from previous events. This negative handicap is no more. But we still give +10% bonus to those who do not have a reward.

In the Map event page I find this text:

Due to your outstanding performance you will get a more powerful reward (in case your team does not finish first anyway)"

I think it has to do with the fact that I have collected enough Map fragments to get +1 Power reward. Should the first part be how many MF I need to get a +2 Power reward? Or something else?

Anyway, is it possible to fix it?
