This 1 needs to be cleared up.

Which of these is a planet?
Mercury
Titan
Pluto
Charon

until recently pluto & mercury were both planets. And I, for one, do not agree with the theory that pluto is a moon because of it's smaller size. Also, because I'm older than probably most players here, I remember this stuff.

Maybe rewording the question to something like 'as of 2009 which is of these is a planet?'

Maybe i'm just too old and shouldn't bother with this game. (48)

Pluto is not classed a moon, but a dwarf planet, so I do agree Pluto does not belong on this list as it makes the question somewhat ambiguous.

Good ideas there Vidrial, I only see a problem with the English as 1st language part of g) 1st it's difficult to implement and 2nd it might work against the the whole point of your suggestion. To solve this I think it would suffice to have one of the evaluators of every question being native English speakers.

Btw. you having to repost this exposes a fundamental flaw in this forum system where only a select group can start new threads, good ideas and valid questions, etc. get buried under chaff.

The name of what ethnic celebration derives from the Aramaic and Hebrew words respectively for son and commandment?
Megillat Taanit
Bar Mitzvah
Shemini Atzeret
Lag Ba'omer

"ethnic celebration" sorry I was under the impression Bar Mitzvah was a Jewish celebration, celebrated by all Jews not only ethnic Jews (people descendent from the Israeli tribes)
(yes I hate misplaced political correctness, and calling a Jewish celebration an ethnic celebration is misplaced in this context).

Get off your high horse. The question is a great one. Jews are an ethnic group - same as any other regional population with specific traits. "Ethnic" MUST be used in the question, because saying "Jewish celebration meaning son" basically invalidates the difficulty of the question.

Martin, your own personal bias', and your absurd levels of grammar policing are placing you at the level of a common Forum Troll. You make some good points fairly often, but they get lost in the drivel you tend to spout about every minor triviality that irks you even the slightest bit. Just tone it back *a little*, and you would be a valuable addition to this forum, instead of an annoying little zit that should be popped.

Thanks for the nice and civil words.
If the "Aramaic and Hebrew" doesn't give away the fact that "ethnic" in this case is Jewish then I don't know what would.
As to the validity of calling it an ethnic celebration in the 1st place: not all Jews are ethnic Jews, and the celebration is a religious one.
Had the question been "... what religious celebration ..." it would have been correct, and a good question.

A brick weighs 2kg and half a brick, how much do 2 bricks weigh?

12kg
8kg
4kg
2kg

if 1 brick weights 2kg then half a brick weighs 1kg, therefore 2 bricks would weigh 6kg not 8.

And this one re-enters the problem queue for the 6th (and a half) time.

It doesn't say that a brick weighs 2kg, it says that that half a brick weighs 2kg, it really is simple: Put one brick on one side of a scale, then on the other side a 2kg weight and half a brick, and the scale is in balance. How much do you have to remove from each side to have a 2kg weight on one side? Correct! Half a brick!

Listen, I don't give a shit how you justify it to yourself - people don't want this question in. To have this many complaints about it, yet it's still in the quiz just means that the Admins don't care.

Do we take this one again?
I'd rather not, but please keep the language civil.
The fact still remains that the question is correct and a good one.

Rice
Maize
Wheat
Semolina * witch is wheat

So this question has two correct answers, please remove either Semolina or Wheat, as Semolina is made of Wheat.

I have two questions that isn't wrong as such, but I'm surprised they made it through the evaluation process:

Beethoven, Brahms, Schubert, and Wagner were all composers, but what else did they have in common?
Were 5 feet tall or less in stature. *
Borne on same day
Same university (didn't write down the name)
Wife had the same name (didn't note it)

I have tried to search this one, and as far as I can see I'd have to search for all four answers for each of the four composers to get this one right.
I would have classified this one as "uninteresting lexical knowledge"

The great majority of English "four-letter words" come from what language?
Gaelic
French
Anglo-Saxon *
Latin

As a non native English speaker I must say this one also belongs to the "uninteresting lexical knowledge" group, (or even specialist knowledge) and I have no idea how to manage the required research in 5 minutes. First I'd have to know what a "four-letter word" is, as it is not a word of four letters, but a profane word, and that it might be longer or shorter than 4 letters. Then I'd have to look them all up or find some research into the matter, which I have failed to do in more than 5 minutes.
And finally what is considered a "four-letter word" does change over time.

Where boils the water faster?
In a deep valley (below sea level)
Everywhere boils the same speed
On a high hill*
On the sea level

This question is very poor English, to the degree that it could be considered wrong. What is the speed of boiling water? Or if we say it's the time to raise the temperature from room temperature to boiling, then I'd say there are to many factors to answer it.

If you are at the edge of a forest and begin walking in how far must you travel before you are actually leaving the forest?
1/2 way <--- marked as correct
1 mile
at the opposite edge of the forest
2 miles

This is a bad question since it never states you walk into the forest. If you are at the edge and you don't walk into the forest then you never leave it since you never left it. Please be more careful on the stuff that gets through.

It does say "if you begin walking in" but the answer marked as correct is wrong, as the question does not say "before you begin to leave the forest" but "before you are actually leaving the forest" and you are not leaving the forest till you pass out of it.

How long is a score?
20 years
100 years

5 years

Actually it's 20 seconds, no wait, 20 milimeters, no 20 inches, no 20 eggs...... a score is 20 and has nothing more to do with time than any other number.
Maybe I should ask "How long is 25?" and have the possible answers 20 years, 100 years, 25 years, 1 year.

it DOES say a brick weights 2kg...lol wakey wakey hand off snakey...

"A brick weighs 2kg and half a brick"

A brick weighs = 2kg AND (plus ) half a brick (1kg) = 3kg and 2 of them weigh 6kg not 8

In that case 2 bricks would be 4 kg, not 6.

But the fact remains that the equation is: Brick = 2kg + 1/2 Brick => Brick = 4kg => 2 Brick = 8kg

How big is the Earth's mantle?

big?
The Earth's mantel is a roughly 2900km thick shell with a radius of roughly 6300km, so how big is it? definitely not 2900 km!
So to conform with the possible answers the question should be: "How thick is the Earth's mantle?"

Your last question
How many countries worldwide have not adopted the metric system as their unit of measurement?

one
three <---------
five
none

The question is valued as "Bad, incorrect question"!

How Fn' hard is this question? Its global, Its a subject that anyone with some intelligence can lkook up and find out, what is the issue with this question? Is it to stupid for the incredible minds that play this game or what? A country either uses the metric system or something differant like the US system, or imperial system, how hard is that? it take 2 secs to look it up or is that to much work?!?

There is a similar question in the database, and one of the 3 countries might adopt it, invalidating the question, so at minimum a year is needed.

I surely hope the reward at the end of the event is worth it.

I have to do it once a day or I will not regenerate my mana fast enough for duelling. And as a dueller XP is a penalty, the way the combat system is set up, the aim is to get as much SE for each XP, (a level 20 player has no combat benefits over a level 17 player with the same skills, attributes, and equipment.)

The result of my 1st activation:
You have won the battle, your reward is 154 soul-energy and 28 XP!
So all in all a loss of 796 SE while receiving 28 XP!

Edit: Miklos, just addressed most of my "complaints" While I was writing this post so I have removed them.
