i don't imagine the makers of this game want the spanish f-bomb in a player's name even if it's not directed at someone.

as Sbart points out, the logic that anything not in english cannot be offense is terribly flawed. Spanish is far from a dead language, and the standard interpretation is far from ambiguous.

i'm finding it difficult to believe that he has taken this position for any reason other than being adversarial.

so, if i respond to you with some namecalling right now ...in mandarin ...that'd be ok with you and fine for the community?

perhaps the evaluator preferred a different spelling of the city name: Shàngdū.

i wish i could offer an explanation, but i'm speculating just as you are.

eukar, your question was not evaluated as "totally wrong." it was evaluated as "ambiguous or wrong." if it's not wrong, then it must be ambiguous. how can you remove the ambiguity and make it more clear?

um, Viridel, that was Thucydides who made the claim about robin hood being the most famous outlaw, not me. i agree with the evaluator and with you that it's ambiguous.
how about billy the kid, jesse james, al capone, blackbeard, ted bundy or osama bin laden? ...all outlaws. if you want to get technical, wouldn't Jesus qualify? certainly to the Romans. and if you want to get fictional (as robin hood may well be), my vote is for boba fett!

Boar, you could have made your point far less acrimoniously.

why did it take a month to announce the ban? hadn't the admins already seen the logs in order to make the suspension?
Dátum: 2011.01.17. 18:28:10
it's also possible that your use of initials instead of full names creates some ambiguity. just taking guesses here.

the Fields Medal is often referred to as 'the nobel prize of mathematics'. while you're correct that it's not technically a nobel prize, there is certainly some ambiguity.

eukar, the "j" vs "y" can cause a little confusion, as can the word "got" vs "won" vs "accepted". didn't both pavlov and perelman win?

petel87, you compared him to Hitler and implied that he should have never been born. are you sure you want to push the issue?

not only have we been shown no evidence, the only info we have on MsPiggy is that there's a temporary suspension. we don't know if that's a hold while they investigate or if that's the punishment. we don't know for how long. and while we can speculate, we don't even know for certain what MsPiggy's been accused/convicted of. it's a stunning lack of communication.
but whatever frustration we have with this situation, there's still some disappolinting flaming going on. can't we be better?

meh, i don't interpret 1 second literally.
Dátum: 2011.01.13. 22:37:28
oh! so you're suggesting that the temporary suspension might BE the decision rather than a hold while they make the decision. interesting. if so, they should simply announce the length, so we can all stop speculating.
Dátum: 2011.01.13. 19:49:18
every 20 seconds would give pretty decent odds of hitting someone seemingly the second they exited safety. so, if true, why is the suspension just temporary?

i am not my position. i'm trying to approach this as a problem separate from my allegiances. if you're telling me it happened once, i'm not impressed that it's cheating. if you're telling me it's happened multiple times, it'd take a tremendous amount of diligence on the part of the attacker. if you're telling me it's happening every time, it's certainly very suspicious. and assuming you're truthful, i would expect the admins to give it a hard look. what i don't understand is why months of logs didn't result in a more definitive decision and announcement one way or the other. that's what's prolonging this unpleasantness.
