No, this is not entirely correct. Adult lions who do not have high testosterone DO NOT have dark manes.
Do you want to or not, the color of manes depends of testosterone and not of the age of the lions, although it is true that with age the degree of testosterone (sometimes) increases, but not at all adult lions, if not, all adults would have dark mane.

Why does the ocean appear blue?
Your answer as correct is "Is it because it reflects the color of the sky"

but I found: The ocean looks blue because red, orange and yellow (long wavelength light) are absorbed more strongly by water than is blue (short wavelength light). So when white light from the sun enters the ocean, it is mostly the blue that gets returned. Same reason the sky is blue."

And the point of all that is that male lions with dark manes have a higher level of testosterone, which makes dark maned lions more dominant and sexually aggressive. (The mane of a lion grows darker as the lion grows older- and and consequently he has a higher level of testosterone)

Read again interpretation from wikipedia, all interpretation shows on higher level of testosterone ...

A lot of my questions were rejected as " the question is already part of database", but in half of an hour I have got a question for 3 times:
"Which country was not part of Yugoslavia?" with different answers, with different correct and different wrong countries (Once it was Albania, then Bulgaria... I can't remember all )
At the first there is a problem in question, it should stand "former Yugoslavia" and as secondly: evaluators sometimes allow the same question if the answers are different, next time they reject it by a priori as a part of the database even as the answers are different.

Adult African male lions with dark manes are more dominant than blond maned lions. Why is this?

Dark maned lions have a higher level of testosterone.
Blond maned lions are always younger.
Dark maned lions eat more protein.
Blond maned lions eat more fat.

The question is valued as "Bad, incorrect question"!
Your answers are ambiguous or wrong to this question.

According to National Geographic, adult African male lions with dark manes have a higher level of testosterone, which makes dark maned lions more dominant and sexually aggressive

and from wikipedia:
The presence, absence, color, and size of the mane is associated with genetic precondition, sexual maturity, climate, and testosterone production; the rule of thumb is the darker and fuller the mane, the healthier the lion. Sexual selection of mates by lionesses favors males with the densest, darkest mane.[46] Research in Tanzania also suggests mane length signals fighting success in male-male relationships. Darker-maned individuals may have longer reproductive lives and higher offspring survival, although they suffer in the hottest months of the year

I also found this:

Kupffer cells are located in your liver, which marvellously cleans and filters your blood.
They are specialised macrophages (Greek for 'big eater') which ingest and breakdown toxic matter. The cells were first observed by Karl Wilhelm von Kupffer in 1876

The very first questions I have got, when I wrote my when I wrote my complaint to the assessment of my question, was:

lWhere can you find the Islets of Langerhans?
Pancreas
Gulf of Mexico
Australia
Bay of Bengal

What is the difference between this and my question?! Maybe that the answers in that questions are more ambiguous...
Dátum: 2010.07.03. 17:43:57
Where would you look for Kupffer cells?

in your computer
in your car battery
in your liver
in your brain

My question was rejected as " According to evaluators only a special group of people might know the answer", but I am convinced that the question is good and that knowledge about the most important Kupffer cells in liversIS part of general knowledge.
If you ask the question on Google, you can easily find all about very important Kupffer Cells:
"Kupffer cells are resident macrophages of the liver and play an important role in its normal physiology and homeostasis as well as participating in the acute and chronic responses of the liver to toxic compounds. Activation of Kupffer cells directly or indirectly by toxic agents results in the release of an array of inflammatory mediators, growth factors, and reactive oxygen species. This activation appears to modulate acute hepatocyte injury as well as chronic liver responses including hepatic cancer. Understanding the role Kupffer cells play in these diverse responses is key to understanding mechanisms of liver injury. Idiosyncratic drug-induced liver disease results in morbidity and mortality, impacting severely on the development of new pharmacological agents. Modulation of the response of Kupffer cells by drugs has been suggested as a cause for the idiosyncratic response. Similarly, liver damage seen in chronic ethanol consumption appears to be modulated by Kupffer cell activation. More recent evidence has noted a contributory role of Kupffer cell activation in the process of hepatic carcinogenesis. Several nongenotoxic carcinogens, for example, activate Kupffer cells resulting in the release of cytokines and/or reactive oxygen species that induce hepatocyte cell proliferation and may enhance clonal expansion of preneoplastic cells leading to neoplasia. Kupffer cells therefore appear to play a central role in the hepatic response to toxic and carcinogenic agents. Taken together, the data presented in this symposium illustrate to the toxicologist the central role played by Kupffer cells in mediating hepatotoxicity. " etc....

I think that evaulators should not have to decide on what is general knowledge or what is known to special group of people. There are so many questions about football players and clubs, details about Harry Potter and other questions for which I am sure that are not a part of general education, but I search Internet to find answers and I am glad to learn something new, something more....

Who is the main opponent of Sherlock Holmes?
Jack the Ripper
Dorian Gray
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
Professor Moriarty

Doyle wrote four novels and 56 short stories about Holmes, and as I found Moriarty appeared in only two of the 60 Sherlock Holmes tales by Conan Doyle. Only dr. Watson and Holmes housekeeper Mrs. Hudson constantly occurring, so you can't say that Professor Moriarty is the main opponent of Holmes.
