How many different chess pieces are there in a standard game of chess?

As the right answer is marked 6. Can you explain how do you mean that?
Because:
There are the following pieces on one team in a standard game of chess:

Count these lines:

what is the continent country?
Japan
Saudi Arabia
USA
Australia

Australia is not the continent. Its part of the continent of Oceania

Depends on the convention in your country. Most commonly, Australia is called a continent and Oceania is not. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Continent. But given the range of opinions on what is a continent and what isn't, I would suggest that all questions regarding continents should be explicitly disallowed.

I just bought an item 2 lvls higher than mine, which was my quest, I did not complete the quest. Why not?

The quest is to buy a weapon 2 lvls higher. Did you buy a different kind of item?

Thank you for calling me an idiot - but I still haven't heard of the guy. As for "popularity rivaling Sherlock Holmes" - please cite your source, as I don't believe it for a second.

I'm not sure such things have reliable sources one could cite, but http://www.topmystery.com/detectives lists Poirot ahead of Holmes. I would agree that if any fictional detective could rival Sherlock Holmes's popularity, Hercule Poirot would be the one. I've never heard of most of the hockey players you talk about, but that doesn't make me an idiot. Nor does it make me qualified to challenge your view of which hockey players are most well known.

Is it just me, or is the world2 server so sluggish as to be almost unusable at the moment?

But, anyways, if someone can answer my question i would appreciate it so I can work on getting weapons higher than my lvl and fight back.

One other thing - upgrading your equipment is probably the exact opposite of what you should do in this situation. Let's take an example: Level 10 Nerubian Robe vs. Level 13 Nerubian protective hood. The L13 version gains you 1 point of defense and 1 point of thaumaturgy and costs 5850. Maybe you could sell the L10 version for 1000 SE, so the true cost is about 4850. Take a look and see how much it would cost you to add 1 point of defense and 1 of thaumaturgy, and it's probably less than 4850. Plus, in order to upgrade equipment, you need much higher amounts of SE on hand, which exposes you to greater risk of losing it. You are generally much better off sinking your SE into abilities as soon as you have enough.

Who shot U.S. President Alexander Hamilton?

First off, there's another question in the database about who shot Hamilton. Second, Hamilton was never President. Please delete this one.

I have a simple question for anyone that can answer it .....

How does a lvl 15 doomlord acquire lvl 18 items to fight with and a lvl 34 pet?

Trade skill level 10, relic from the map contest, plus mind boost level 20 gives you the ability to buy items 3 levels above your own. Or, if the item is a spell and the character is emerald horde, that gives one level as well. For the pet, what that means is the guy never hunts, he just duels. The good news is that means you will advance faster than he will.

I only get attacked when I have SE and not at any other time, so either they have a way of seeing when you have SE, or they are damned lucky... so lucky they should be putting all their money into lottery tickets instead of playing this game.

Do you tend to have SE on you at the same time(s) of the day? Try varying your routine. Also, before you go to sleep, dump all your SE and attack him back before you go to rest. He will win, but you will give him XP with no SE. Duelers hate that. Another trick is to suicide down to 1 HP before you do all your hunts. But make sure you dump your SE before you come out of safety. Odds are he will scry you when he sees you are low HP, and that will tell him precisely when he can hit you again.

Just entered a question which read "What prison did Nelson Mandela spend 27 years of his life in?"

it's not worded correctly i'm afraid, it should real "Where did Nelson Mandela spend most of his 27 years of imprisonment?"

My apologies

If it's a formal publication, you're not supposed to end a sentence in a preposition, but for casual usage, it's acceptable.

The Quiz page should show how many questions you have accumulated. It would be nice to also show how many more hunts you need to get right before you earn another question. And, in a perfect world, you would be able to renounce however many questions you wanted all at once.

I would like to suggest an addition to the guidelines. Questions (or answers) involving measurements should be rejected unless they include both metric and whatever you call the F'd up system we use in the US.

I've got a question Which bird lays the smallest egg? and I gave the correctly answer: bee hummingbird.

but my iresult was: Wrong answer! The correct answer is: And yet it moves. (Galilei).
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've never experienced that, but I've seen reports of it periodically. Someone said it had to do with a server going down, so you got routed to the backup server. It sounds more like a multithreading bug in the code to me. Either way, though, this is technically a bug report, not a quiz error. Hopefully it won't happen to you again.

What do i have to do to perform the flowing quest: Execute an opponent!

1) Get your learning skill up to at least 15
2) Buy 1 level of execution skill
3) Attack someone and knock them down to 1 HP

Oh, maybe... But could you imagine getting a question like that in the Quiz Olympics, where time is precious, and having to look up three answers to eliminate, instead of the one correct answer?

You're assuming they are still running Quiz Olympics.

I have the acceleration option where you can attack 3 times before you hit the -10% penalty. But the countdown timer underneath where it shows my duel points displays the time until 1 hour after my second-to-last attack. It should display the time until 1 hour after my third-to-last attack.

For example, if I attacked on:
12:00
12:30
12:40

and it is now 12:50, the timer should show -10% (0%: 10:00), but what it actually shows is -10% (0%: 40:00).

I know the subject has come up before about mailing to all your clanmates at once, and it got rejected (back when the admins actually engaged...) as redundant with the clan forum. This suggestion is similar, but differs in key respects. I would like to be able to send a message to a comma-separated list of recipients. Any replies should default to standard reply-all behavior. Here are some examples of how this would come in useful:

- Clan leaders sometimes have things to discuss amongst themselves that shouldn't be visible to the entire clan. Such as what to say to a member who is not fulfilling clan requirements.

- If I discover a particularly productive cow, I'd like to be able to message just the members who are online at the time.

- Our clan had a thread on our forum where people were supposed to post when they had registered for the championship. One of the clan leaders tried to message everyone who had not yet posted to remind them, but the system stopped him after a few messages, saying he was spamming.

Coding-wise, this shouldn't be hard to do. Just split the string on commas and loop through, calling the same code that's already there. Getting the reply-all functionality right might take a few minutes, but it's not conceptually difficult. Probably the hardest bit would be handling the case where one of the recipients is typoed, and even that shouldn't take more than an hour.

I thought these "who was NOT" questions were NOT being accepted anymore...

I don't remember them saying that. I remember the "none of these" bit. Maybe you're confusing those two? Or maybe it's just a memory fault on my end. Can you dig up a reference?
