I just saw a question that read, "What is the biggest country in the world?" The answer to this question, "Russia," is wrong. Russia is not a very big country at all. Please take this question out of the quiz.

Who was Mathias Rex? I search all over the google, but I found only hotels named after him (Mathias Rex Szentendre), some dogs champions (dogs - CHAMPION CLASS ex1, cac, r.cacib DOBER KOPP MATHIAS REX), komisar REX... Is this really "general knowledge" question?

I believe the player meant Matthias Corvinus, but since i do not know the answer he marked as correct i cannot be sure. Did he say it was a king?

Yes he did mean Matthias Corvinus, and Rex simply means King, so the question translated to English is "Who was King Matthias?" and only one of the possible answers is a king, so I guess this questions should have been what does the Latin word Rex mean?

Not that i fully disagree with you, i understand how this can be considered lexical. But i passed it as it gives a nice addition to languages section of the quiz, which is a bit under used. Maybe i got carried away though, i would like other opinions on that one

Where are Panama hats made?
Panama
Bolivia
Ecuador
Peru

Most likely some are made in all of those countries, but they originate in Ecuador, and Ecuador is the main producer.

My question from some time ago:

From which country does "panama hat" originate?

Ecuador
Peru
Brasil
Panama

(15 good and 22 bad answers have arrived for this question. )

Should be deleted.

In modern Māori usage, the name for New Zealand is Aotearoa. What does it mean?
Home of 100.000 sheep
Land of the long white cloud <--
Rocky Heavens
Endless waters

I know google is not always the most accurate, but it says, "The original derivation of Aotearoa is not known for certain. The word can be broken up as: ao = cloud, tea = white and roa = long, and it is therefore usually glossed as "the land of the long white cloud". In some traditional stories, Aotearoa was the name of the canoe of the explorer Kupe, and he named the land after it. Kupe's wife (in some versions, his daughter) was watching the horizon and called "He ao! He ao!" ("a cloud! a cloud!"). Other versions say the canoe was guided by a long white cloud in the course of the day and by a long bright cloud at night. On arrival, the sign of land to Kupe’s crew was the long cloud hanging over it. The cloud caught Kupe’s attention and he said “Surely is a point of land”. Because of the cloud which greeted them, Kupe named the land Aotearoa.[2] Aotearoa can also be broken up as: aotea-roa. Aotea is the name of one of the Māori migration canoes. The first land sighted was accordingly named Aotea (Cloud), now Great Barrier Island. When a much larger landmass was found beyond Aotea, it was called Aotea-roa (Long Aotea).[3]"

While the protestant bible contains 66 books, how many books does the Catholic bible contain?
76
53
73
66

This is nonsense! There is no 'Protestant Bible' and 'Catholic bible'. This is wrong in so many ways. There are 66 books of the bible. There is also a collection of books (and additions to some of the 66) called 'The Apocrypha'. These are writings that were not included in the bible but are considered to contain good teaching. ALL Christian bibles may or may not contain these, depending on the publisher, not the denomination.

Apart from that, the question is wrong because ALL Protestant are Catholic. We affirm this in the words of the Creed: "We believe in one holy catholic church". If you need to make a distinction then you must refer to ROMAN Catholics.

Please remove this question!

What color does Gandalf have as his name in The Lord of the Rings?
Blue
Grey (marked as correct)
Green
Red

While the answer is tru, Gandalf is known as Gandalf the Grey in Fellowship of the ring, but also known as Gandlaf the White in The two Towers and onwards. I belive that "The Lord of the rings" should be changed to "The Fellowship of the ring" for the question to be more precise.
