what was the longest running tv cartoon series before the simpsons?

the correct answer, Sazae-san, is not listed. this Japanese cartoon has not been outdone by the simpsons. it started in 1969 and is still running. a simple solution would be to specify US or english-language in the quiz question.

the variance you're seeing is probably due to demographics (sex, race, etc). there's also a difference between lifespan and life expectancy. here's the US government's report on life expectancy:

http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nvsr/nvsr58/nvsr58_21.pdf

a white male born in 1900: 48.23.

any variance you'll find is far less than the difference between the alternative answers (30, 57, 65).

rather than the ambiguity of 'major' religion, i prefer MartinBV's suggestion of something like The Iliad. i don't imagine Mormons would want to be thought of as 'minor' any more than Christians want to be thought of as just a popular sect of Judaism.

"Yiddish is the common name for the language of which religious group?"

Hebrew is the language of the Jewish people if you can say that the Jewish people have a language. Yiddish is a mix of German and Hebrew and a few other languages. it is spoken only by some Ashkenazi Jews.
