Don't be silly, just because it's an english server doesn't mean that the majority of the players here have had an english upbringing.

Actually, yeah, it does. Maybe at the beginning, it wasn't, but as time goes on, the vast majority of new users are from English speaking countries. It's just human nature. Most of your average Internet user's activity is on sites in their native language. So yes, China has almost double the Internet users of the US, but those users don't use Google, they use Baidu. They don't use eBay, they use Taobao. And that's even with the American sites having Chinese language versions. Some Chinese users do come to English sites, of course, but in general, they represent below 1% of the traffic there, as opposed to over 20% overall. And the same kind of thing applies for other countries.

Evenmore, it's been my experience that most of the people that are not native english speakers on the web speak better english than the majority of the native english speakers I encountered. Most of the time, this is due to age difference, maturity and purpose of use.

How is that relevant?

I still stand that english nursery rhymes should be rated "too specific audience".

They absolutely should not. The proportion of users who know English nursery rhymes is higher than almost any approved question in the database. It's ridiculous that we're even having this conversation. Really, what it proves is that "too specific" means "I didn't know the answer".

Now it's changed to 92. Which is closer to 50-80, but still a stretch. And it's unsettling that it changed at all.

You're not looking at the number of pieces you still need from now on? As in you've found 12 pieces since it was 104?
They did promise they wouldn't change things midway this time, so it'd be odd if the total amount needed changed...

Correct. I currently have 15 pieces and it says I need 77 more (making 92). When I had 5 pieces, it said I needed 99 more. I did level up in there somewhere, but I can't swear to the timing.

I don't remember them making any promises. That would seem out of character for them.

Native English speakers are too specific? Get real.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_language
Total speakers as First language: 309–400 million

That's only one fourth of the chinese (for example) native speakers, so let's start asking questions about chinese nursery rhymes as well, what do you think?

This is the English language version of Doomlord. If they make a Chinese language version, you go right ahead and ask about those Chinese nursery rhymes.

Evidently. It says I need 104 pieces. Which, last I checked, was not within the range of 50-80... I thought 50 might be achievable, if I spent for the boosters. 100 is just ridiculous.

Now, I can accept lots of english-culture peculiar stuff being asked in the quizzes, because of the english language proliferation; but we all learned english as a foreign language in a quite more advanced age than nursery.
We can't have known this particular nursery rhyme, and won't ever care to.

Useless question, very specific audience, please remove.

I have a problem. I have a pet and training skill 2 (i gave him some SE). I have an equipment for him, but i dunno, how to equip it on him and how to use him in the fight. I can go for a duel, but i don't see any words about my pet's fighting. I don't see any way, how to "join" him.. Please help me.

Did you train him all the way? If there's still a Training button next to him, you need to keep giving him more SE until he's fully trained. Once he's fully trained, you should get a Call to Fight button instead.

thats the definion of optimism lol

I'm very sceptical on the issue of "googlability", as it only serves to help players get 'quick' answers (and not 100% correct) instead of adding a little tiny piece of trivia in their mental thesaurus. And only some effort in intelligent searching can do that.

As long as we're resurrecting this thread, what did the boss have to say last September, stekkos?

Also it is not a question that would pass as general, billions of people do not even own a bilble

You're kidding, right? By that criteria, you would have to reject every single question.

Currently, you work for her. So far, you collected 0 map pieces.

Check your map section, under your huckster.

8.) If you collect a given number of map pieces (50-80, depending on team number), you will get a better grade prize than your team (unless you are already first).

Once the event starts, will this number be shown somewhere? If not, is there a way for us to calculate it before the event ends? Knowing this information could make a difference for some people.

May as well go ahead and split this off into its own thread, in case people come up with new ideas down the road.

Here's what D00ml0rd already posted:

build at least 1 million using manaconstruction
Heal yourself with at least 3000hp using magic regeneration
Buy some equipment at least 10 levels above you

I especially like the manaconstruction one, but 1M seems a little high to me.

I'll add a couple more ideas:

submit an adventure that is accepted
win and lose (or lose and win) exactly the same amount of SE (must be at least 100) in consecutive duels that you initiate

Okay here is the reasoning of the admin staff:

-Those quests are there to slow the completing of quests. Without these, characters would stand with no new quests since we need time to make the new one.

-Those quest limits serve to keep the game balance. Example: Advance 5 levels etc.

-These time limited quests will not be changed.

Did you specifically ask them about changing those quests by adding the "at least"? It doesn't seem like that would change how quickly they would be completed or affect the game balance. Which leaves us with the third item, which is not "reasoning".

BabeTheOx, as long as you earn over 10 pieces, the power of the relic will not be affected by the number of pieces you personally collected. It is ALL down to the results of all the followers collated.

Idézet: Kethios - 2010.12.02. 16:17:59
You will get a big 0 if you don't find at least 10 pieces.

You guys are both wrong.

From the description on the map event page:

If you find 6-9 pieces, you get an item with power one less. If you find only 3-5 pieces, you get two powers weaker, if you find 0-2, you get nothing.

@ImLittleJon:
According to my observations (I have the excel spreadsheet with my hunt results), the bonus from the hunt relic is applied on the whole hunt (aka multiplicative with spectral manipulation bonus). So it's real 3% gain, not 1.5% when SM is maxed.

One of my Hungarian clanmates talked to the programmer who said it worked the other way. There's always the possibility of a miscommunication, what with the language barrier, but I'm operating on the assumption that it's 1.5%.

Exactly, most of these quests are as subtle as a sledge hammer and the ONLY reason for them is to suck stones out of players, i.e stun quest i just completed which required me to spend stones on a paralysation chip.

If the developers want to force people to spend stones the least they can do is be subtle about it.

I'm with you on the all equipment same/+2 levels. Those are bad quests and adding the "at least" would turn them into good quests.

But the stun quest doesn't require you to spend stones. I completed it without spending any AS. I just waited, doing other quests, until a DG monster dropped something with paralyzation.

Also, other than the stun quest, what other quests would spending AS even be helpful for? Most of them are like go to the level X legend, have a specific skill up to level X, etc.

I have just been attacked by a guy with 100k building who is in a clan with 200k SE.
I scried him and he has +24 Attack/Defense from the Training Grounds and the Ramparts.
This got me a little confused. Shouldn't he have at least 200k building to benefit from the clan constructions?

He joined when the clan's soul well was smaller.
