Idézet: Thetus - 2010.06.20. 09:25:04 Aaaaah, and something about the brick question.
The correct answer is of course 8 kg. Maybe the question is not perfect English but I think that noone should have any problems with figuring out how to count it.
After a heated discussion with someone (in real life) I have been shown that I am in fact....
Wrong.
I was misreading it...as well as over complicating the scenario.
Yup, I said it.
I was wrong.
As for the Fantasia question,....personally, when it comes to movies; I always use the year the movie was released, to avoid this exact complaint.
You never know when someone might decide to do a remake.
(Friday the 13th, Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street, 12 Angry Men, 3:10 to Yuma, Bangkok Dangerous, Death at a Funeral.....just to name a few)
I can only advise others to do the same.

If hate is to love, as clear is too...
clowdy
opaque
clean
dirty
"
to" not "
too"
"
cloudy" not "
clowdy"
But, my real gripe here is this:
More than one (CENSORED WORD THAT STARTS WITH AN "F") right answer in the choices.
If you can't see that...then perhaps you should look up the definition for each and every word in the entire question.
oh...and the extra "as" word needs to be left out as well.

How do you call the process of reducing dead human bodies to basic chemical compounds in the form of gases and bone fragments?
exhumation
vaporization
cremation
Burial
The question is bad English. So the question should be:
What do you call the process of reducing dead human bodies to their basic chemical compounds in the form of gases and bone fragments?
Actually, not only is this bad English, it also has TWO correct answers, and no, I am not including burial.
There is a device capable of generating sufficient heat and pressure to completely vaporize human bodies leaving only gas and bone fragments.
Japan has first hand knowledge to this fact.

Idézet: MartinBV - 2010.06.19. 08:55:19 Which animal is the biggest terrestrial animal?
elephant
giraffe
rhinoceros
lion
Only a minor problem with this, what is "biggest"? is it "tallest" the giraffe or "heaviest" the elephant, so maybe giraffe should be replaced by an animal that's not taller than an elephant.
I agree...the word "biggest" is misleading...because the African Elephant is the largest terrestrial animal.
So perhaps simply exchanging "Biggest" for "Largest" would suffice, that is; if the question is tossed out.
But, I doubt that it will, because "biggest" doesn't imply
height..... it does imply mass.

Wow...no offense but....
That's a load of manure.
Here, let me break this down:
A = 2kg
B = (2kg) divided by 2 (which would be ONE)
C = A + B
So, what is 2 plus 1?
3?
Good...
Now, we have D
D = 2(C)
So what would D be kids?
6....not 8.
But, back to why I posted what I did before.
If a loaf of bread weighs 1lb and half a loaf of bread...
then a loaf of bread actually weighs 1.5 lbs...so then half a loaf of bread actually weighs .75 lb so...
then a loaf of bread actually weighs 2.25 lbs and half a loaf of bread weighs 1.125 lbs...so....
then a loaf of bread actually weighs 3.375 lbs and half a loaf of bread weighs 1.6875 lbs....
can we see a pattern here folks?
An item cannot weigh itself PLUS half of the weight of itself.
Because THEN the weight of itself would constantly change...and, so would half of it's own weight as well.
A paradox.

Wow...
What happened to this thread?
okay....so it evolved.
So, I tried to see if any questions, or suggestions have been instated or....been answered.
I think I have a headache from all the baloney that has been posted by those that were obviously in the wrong section...
Anyhow.
Since we now have several open members state they are evaluators....
I would like to ask just this:
Are the evaluators being disciplined when they make a mistake?
As in, when they pass a question which should have been rejected for one reason or another??
Seriously...if this has not been instated, it should be.
I am not saying that ALL evaluators are bad, just a few seem lazy to do their jobs.
A penalty for not doing their jobs would encourage them to do it better, or...being ejected from the role as an evaluator.
anybody? anybody?

A brick weighs 2kg and half a brick, how much do 2 bricks weigh?
wait........what?
I know you didn't write this Viridel.... but, was that an exact CnP quote?
Because I can see why you, and perhaps hundreds of others; would be confused.
How can something weigh a predetermined weight (represented here as 2kg)
plus half of it's own weight?
That's what many would call a....
paradoxical improbability!
or....better yet, CANNOT BE DONE.

What animal, besides snakes, can go for two years without food?
The answer that is "Correct" is...... WRONG
The answer supplied can only survive for, at most; 18 months (that's one year two months, ten months shy of two years).......no more.
So...yeah...again, at least 2 people decided not to do their research and simply decided that the internet is "All Knowing",while scientists and zoologists are wrong.

I'm done.
"What is the Thai name for Bangkok?"
How about "None of the Given answers because the creator of the question decided to be lazy"?
The answer is actually:
Krung Thep Mahanakhon Amon Rattanakosin Mahinthara Yuthaya Mahadilok Phop Noppharat Ratchathani Burirom Udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amon Phiman Awatan Sathit Sakkathattiya Witsanukam Prasit
Yup...the whole shabang.
Don't ask "what is Mozart's full name" and only give a part of it.
Most people think it is Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart...
But it's actually Johannes Chrysostomus Wolfgangus Theophilus Mozart
Yes...I am being picky.deal with it.
Quite simply the answer given is not correct. Period.

You are correct Hyannis.....
and I am ashamed to admit........that question is mine <sighs>

Abraham Lincoln
George Washington <-- Marked as Correct
Thomas Jefferson
John Adams
The question either needs to be changed to ask "Who was the first President of the United States of America under the United States Constitution, or it needs to be deleated, because George Washington was the first President under the United States Constitution. John Hanson was in fact the first President of the United States of America.
http://www.marshallhall.org/hanson.html
Sorry Twink...but technically, Hanson was elected as "President of the Continental Congress"... not "President of the United States".
There is a difference...

Correct me if I am wrong in my calculations ....
But, a tip on how to judge what your pets base level is before you waste the time...and SE to train...use this simple formula:
the SE needed to train, divided by three; equals the pets base level.
Example:
A pet needing 900 SE to train, will be a Base Level 3
A pet needing 2400 SE will be a Base Level 8
If I am incorrect on this...please, let me know.

Do your homework people....
Who was the first quadriplegic to sail around Britain?
The correct answer is NOT given....
Geoff Holt is the correct answer...period.
Quoted from
http://tinyurl.com/yffk497
....the aspiring yachtsman-turned-motivational speaker became the first quadriplegic to sail around Britain, making a 109-day trip to 51 ports before he returned home to Southampton.
And...quoted from
http://tinyurl.com/ydp8uqx
...In 2007, he became the first quadriplegic to sail around Britain, reported the BBC.
It aggravates me when this happens...both the creator of a question and the evaluators don't do their research to ensure a fair and honest question and answer.

Mount Everest - 4810
Mount Blanc -8848
The answer I found :
Mount Elbrus, 5642m. in Caucasus :
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_highest_peak_in_Europe
You are
correct, sir. People tend to forget just because Elbrus is in Russia, that it is
not in Asia.
Perhaps the author of the query should either
change the answer...or to keep the answer; amend the question to:
"How high is the highest peak in the European Union?" Dátum: 2010.03.19. 20:43:16

Wow...ok...this is a bad one, for two reasons:
What's the name of the killer in "Friday the 13th" movie?
First, there is two versions of this movie...
So if the question is asking about the more recent version, then the answer would be correct...
Secondly, in the original version...it was actually Pamela Voorhees.
So, either the question needs to be amended to read:
In the 2009 release, what is the name of the killer in the "Friday the 13th" movie?
Or...change the answer itself.
Some might see this as petty... but.......well...didn't you see the movie "Scream" jeez....the poor girl died for this exact reason!
