I like the way you're thinking! Warring should be a real competition between two somewhat equal clans, so the system should have rules to encourage this.

Skirmish: I like it

Friendly: If there's indeed a tournament that would be fun, otherwise it's not much different from a skirmish...

Scholarly disputes: great idea!

Arena war: I like this, it's 100% non-destructive, so no objections to starting one. Of course, with there being no draw-backs, real rewards can't be given either.

Clan championship: I like it They could be held once a month as well around the 20th so we effectively have some fun every 2 weeks.

Epic contest: I don't really see this working, unless the two clans are really close, the losing one would just back out...

A few more ideas:

Quiz wars: Like the quiz Olympics, every member has to answer 50 questions quickly and the clan with the best ratio wins. Members have 3 days to participate and those who haven't been online during that time don't count.

Find the flag: Randomly one member of each clan gets a flag. The clan who first executes the flag carrier wins. Both flag-carriers are unknown to both clans. Players who are out of range can be attacked once all players who are in range of at least 1 member have been executed already. Only available for clans with at least 5 members and lasts 3 days or until either party wins whichever is shorter.

Paintball: The first clan to execute all members of the opposing clan wins, using normal duels. People out of range to all don't get to play.

Pet war: The pets battle eachother, I'm not exactly sure how pets work, so I'm not too sure about the mechanics.

Piggy in the middle: Like the children's game, the ball needs to be caught while others toss it around. Here both clans have a ball and to win, you need to execute the one with the ball. Both sides can see who has the ball. But, each time the owner of the ball gets attacked, he tosses the ball to someone else automatically. Whether he wins or loses the battle doesn't matter, as long as he is not executed. If a person holds the ball for more than 2 hours, it gets tossed away automatically.

Possible additions to normal wars:
*You have a chance to receive a potion after a battle, providing enough damage is dealt. These potions expire after three days or once the war ends, whichever is sooner. The expire date and damage requirements are to prevent potion-farming wars. The reason for this is to make wars less destructive, you won't have to spend too much SE or stones on potions.
*You get the option to make battles in war only have a 50% chance of costing a duel-point. However, with this setting you also only gain half as much SE and have a maximum of attacking in war as many times/day as you receive duel-points/day. This helps duellers who depend on their duel-points for income.
*You get the option to receive no or little XP from battles in war. The large amounts of XP gained without significant SE can be reason for people not to want war, many people want to stay as low a level as possible after all.

Question: The original name of scrabble is?

The correct answer was: Criss-Cross-Words
However, while 'Criss-cross-words' is a previous name of scrabble, it is NOT the original name, the original name is 'Lexico'.
So the correct answer to this questions should be 'none of these three' which was also one of the options given.

I know it's a taboo to get free premium points (called ancient stones in this game) and I'm not asking for it
It's just odd the description mentions that possibility.
Thievery is indeed the solution to the problem of getting stones. If you have a clan with 20 people and each gets 10 thievery and does about 15 battles a day, you get 30 stones/day from battles alone. Only 20 days for a level 3 crystalliser, which is really all you need until you reach the quest that requires you to gain 6 stones by levelling up.

And yes, I am familiar with the discharge soulwell function although I've never used it as I'm not a premium player. Supporting the developers is a good thing, but I dislike having an advantage that others might not to be able to afford, so I play without using ancient stones. I'd prefer it if you'd pay for functions like add-removal and pet-naming without actual real benefits like more hunts and better equipment.

It doesn't give you a message or something, it just adds one BoAS (or more if you have a higher level crystalliser) Quite easy to overlook...
The main reason to build this is that it is a requirement for both the dimension gate and 2 quests (get 3/6 ancient stones when levelling up). As far as I know that first line is bogus...maybe it happens when you finally reach level 20 of the building?
There is however an auctionhouse item that allows you to get real ancient stones out of it when you level up...that's about as far as it goes I think I'd have gladly traded some SE for stones...
Dátum: 2010.07.29. 07:24:13
lol really? But seriously...level 24 kennel In reality only a very select few will ever reach such heights.
And the focus is different, if people can pick their own speciality, it means all the pets still start out the same...
I'd like it better if there are differences between the different species, people would have to hunt for the pet they desire and it will be a challenge to find out every pet's characteristics.

Item suggestions:

More effective invisibility: +level to all your stats instead of +10. It might actually keep someone save that way...

Daily SE: Much like the daily potion, you get a small amount of SE every day on your first login

Higher level dimension item: if you slay a dimension gate monster and get an item, the item you get will be approx 15 levels higher than it would normally be.

Higher absorption against epic monsters: like the extra damage, but now you take less damage.

Extra abilities against a specific horde: like the hatred skill, but +5 to all abilities.

Higher learning skill: You're able to proceed in learning 4 levels higher than your clan academy allows.

Cheaper shopping: All items you buy at the soulhuckster cost 30% less

Better returns: When selling an item at the soulhuckster, you get double or triple what you'd get normally.

Extra pet: One more pet than normally is allowed to fight by your side.

More effective kennel: Your pets get 25% extra experience when training in the kennel.

Lower waiting time: The time you need to wait to attack a player again is reduced by 25%

Diminution protection: The continuum diminution skill doesn't work against you.

Vault: 100* your level SE is save from attacks

Ancient stone generator: Every day on your first login you receive 1 ancient stone

Skill maximum: You can upgrade 1 skill, 5 points higher than maximum.

Sapphire: You obtain half the sapphire horde bonus

Ruby, diamond, emerald: same as sapphire

Skill scrying: when scrying, you also get to see the skills of the target.

Reinforcement bonus: When reinforcing someone, they gain double the normal bonus.

Reinforcement range: You can also reinforce players of higher level than yourself.

Specialisation switch: You can switch your specialisation every week instead of every 30 days

Horde switch: You can change your horde once a month, free of charge

Quest requirements: Quest requirements get lowered by 20%, example: you only need 4 draws instead of 5, you only need to loot 1200 SE instead of 1500 ect. With a non-integer result, round to the nearest integer.

Make-up quiz: You can mark two answers instead of one, if one is right, you pass. Does not work in the Olympics

Spell splitter: You get two spell rounds, but each at half power. (effect: lowers randomness)

Spell gamble: You have lower chances of hitting with your spell, but do more damage when it does

Pet killer: You do 30% more damage to your opponents pets.

Buidling: Your clans gains 500k SE to the soulwell instantly. (can exceed max soulwell)

Cannibalism: You can attack your own horde, but with lesser gains or an ability penalty

Superpower for a week: During the week after obtaining this item, all your abilities gain +2*your level, after that it vanishes.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Another idea:
It would be nice if there were items that would be given to the clan after obtaining them, they'd show on the clanpage instead of the character page and remain with the clan even if the player leaves. Simple examples:
1) Certain building acts as if it's one level higher
2) Soulwell regenerates 10% faster
3) New members don't need to fill the soulwell to gain access to the buildings
4) Epic monsters regenerate 10% less
5) Epic monsters have 10% less HP
6) Epic monsters do 10% less damage (spell or battle rounds only)
7) Pets do 50% more damage against epic monsters.
Upgrading a building costs 2% less SE
I would like it if you could register for the next tournament right after the previous one ended.
This provides more freedom and everybody can register at a time which suits them best.
With the current system it's unsure exactly when the next tournament is starting, this makes it hard to plan in which category you wish to enter.
Another option is to have a set date for the tournament and the enrolment to start, like the first Sunday of a month, or the 4th.
I prefer the first option, but the second at least allows you to plan properly as well.
edit: should have posted this in the suggestion box...but can't find a delete button
The bidding for the Elenios jegygyűrűje item was won by...
Items obtained in epic battles show up normally in the treasury, but once the item is sold, the event page shows a different name...
I assume this part has been overlooked when the game was translated into English.
The idea of pets having special features isn't bad. As far as I know, and that isn't very far, the only difference between pets is their baselevel and the picture. I'd like to see pets having different abilities.
examples: two items, higher attack, higher defence, more damage, more absorption, a bonus to a certain skill, ect...
Only implementing the option of two items would favour ancient stone users too much since pet equipment can only be obtained that way.
Dátum: 2010.07.28. 12:57:24
Hmm...wouldn't it be nice if this was implemented into the game, just like this forum...
I don't know much about programming, but there's lots of sites with chatboxes, I see no reason why we couldn't have one here...
Yes, I have to agree with shadowpreyer. The fun of of the quiz system lies in the fact that you encounter questions you would never have thought of yourself and the variety in the questions. But I find that the database is getting flooded with boring questions like "Who wrote..." or "Who directed..." instead of interesting ones. The reason for this is most likely that those questions are the only ones sure to pass the screening.
Many interesting questions get rejected because 'only a few people would know' or similar reasons. I really do wonder though, don't just the few people who actually read the book usually know the author? With movie directors not even those who watched it will always know...
So why are these question acceptable, while many others, which surely would have a higher percentage of people knowing, are not?
I'm pretty sure 90+% of the people will have to google authors/directors and the like, but that seems to be no problem...so why does it suddenly become a problem if 90% of them has to google something else?! I for one, would very much welcome questions like the 'royale with cheese' especially if the alternative is just another boring author or similarly uninspired question written for the soul purpose of quickly picking up the 'good-question' SE.
My question was automatically rejected by the computer because of a 'forbidden word'. Now if you could please tell me, why is the word "Spinach" a forbidden word????
And yes I double checked! I even changed all the other answers and the question...
Dátum: 2010.06.10. 01:08:15
There could be many reasons...
1) someone is just asked by a friend (for example a team-mate in another game) to forfill the roll of builder and can't be bothered.
2) the person in question does not understand english and doesn't care to guess for the average 2.5% bonus.
3) they don't want to risk people targeting them as soon as they see the number of correctly answered questions went up.
4) a silent protest to oppose something they dislike about the quiz-system.
5) they might have a superstitions that there would be penalties if you try but get the wrong answer.
and there should be lots of other possible reasons...peoples minds work in mysterious ways...
Player Jump, W2 not saying hes a bot but very strange that hes not answered one single question correctly yet has accumulated 48k SE from hunts mostly as hes o nly looted 200SE
I could shut my eyes and answer questions purely randomly and i would still manage a few correct answers with that many hunts.
i would still like to know about this?(no response yet) I have spotted quite alot of players that have put 10s of thosuands of SE into building yet answered none or veryfew questions right, its not hard to get at least 70% of questions correct even if you just pick first selection on every question, if your dedicated to building then why forgo the 10% bonus by just disreguarding all the questions.
More so how come alot of these "non question answerers" seem to gravitate to the same clans?
Any light that can be shed on this would be greatly appreciated.
I know of one clan where apprently the whole family are playing on same ip and none of them have more than a couple of questions correct combined yet have pumped 100k plus SE into building and its virtually a brand new clan.
Im not saying its cheating im just wondering the strategy or method for playing this way and throwing away 10s of thosuands of SE just cos cant be bothered to answer a question correctly or even guess it correctly...
A guild should lose a war automatically if a certain percentage (25%?) of their members leave from the moment of declaration. There's enough options to hide (catacombs/invisible) so there should be no need for tricks like that...
And if the opponent guild is really breaking up, then it's no fun to war them anyway.
Which of these statements about Mount Kilimanjaro is NOT true?
Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa
Kilimanjaro is an inactive volcano
Blind people have managed to climb the Kilimanjaro
Despite it's height, there is no snow to be found on the Kilimanjaro
The question is valued as "Bad, incorrect question"!
Your answers are ambiguous or wrong to this question.
Why are my answers ambiguous? The right answer is option 4...the other 3 are really true, so I don't understand...
