Which is the smallest prime number?
2
3
1
5

When I was in school, 1 was a prime number. Now, it's not. It's like asking whether Pluto is a planet or not. If the definitions are changing, it's not a good quiz question.

Not only that, but it turns out it's a duplicate.

Which is not a prime number?
1
3
7
2

If you're going to have a question about this subject, this is a much better form. At least here, you can get the correct answer by eliminating the others, making it much less ambiguous.

How long is the river Amur?
4444 km
2154 km
3899 km
5258 km

First, how did this possibly pass the specialized knowledge test? Second, according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amur_River, the answer is 2824 km.

Would this question be accepted as is? If not, what's the minimum context that would need to be added? (I'm sure it's bumping up against the character limit already)

If there's somethin' strange in your neighborhood / Who ya gonna call? If it's somethin' weird and it won't look good / Who ya gonna call?

The answer, of course, would be Ghostbusters.

How much would 1 kilogram weigh on the moon?
167 gram
1000 gram
556 gram
nothing

Grams are a unit of mass, not weight. 1 kilogram on Earth is 1 kilogram on the moon. When someone answers a weight question using kilograms, there is an implied "on the surface of the Earth". Pounds, on the other hand, are a unit of weight. 1 pound on Earth is 1/6 pound on the moon.

Before the Euro was introduced, what was the currency in Hungary?
Forint
Koruna
Mark
Lev

This question is a few years early. Hungary only dreams about the Euro.

Technically, the question doesn't specify where the Euro was introduced. I agree, though, that clause does make the question awkward. A better form would be what was the currency in 2010 and have Euro as one of the incorrect options.

1st: Miklós didn't reply to a certain post. He said: nice ideas - to you all that suggested the above things.

Well, he posted 6 hours after MsPiggy's post. The previous post with any suggestions was 4 months older. I'm pretty confident that his intent was to reply to MsPiggy's post specifically. That's not really the point, though.

Idézet: Kethios - 2010.08.02. 13:57:00
2nd: Admins are very busy. Doomlord and the bigger bro the Hungarian Végzetúr game aren't the only projects they are administrating/coordinating. Beholder company is way more complex than you think.

I understand that they are very busy. But listening to the feedback of your customers and letting them know that they have been heard are extremely important for any business. The fact that the admins have been too busy to perform that function has built up a significant sense of frustration among the players. That might be about the only thing we can all agree on. I've seen that same sense of frustration be a contributing factor to other good games dying. I like Doomlord, and I would like to see it avoid that fate. The whole MsPiggy thing was just my attempt to couch my message in a gently teasing framework, but let me restate what I mean as clearly as possible:

Thank you for (finally) responding to someone's suggestions and letting us know we are not operating completely in a void. Please, please, please continue.

Idézet: Kethios - 2010.08.02. 13:57:00
Also, I try to answer all the questions that remained unanswered by the players. I don't really comment the suggestions because I have no permission into content.

Thank you for your efforts. They are noticed and appreciated. Do you have any contact with the people who do have permission into content? If they are too busy to come to the forums, but not too busy to chat with you, perhaps you could let them know as suggestions come through, and then let us know that our concerns have been heard. That's all we (well, I anyway) want.

Piggy, are you familiar with the discharge soul well button, if you are a premium player? Its the only way to get quite a lot of se from real stones.

She wants the other direction - convert SE into real stones. Which is what the (English translation of the) description of the Energy Crystallizer implies it does.

2) Nullarbor is spelled wrong

Skill maximum: You can upgrade 1 skill, 5 points higher than maximum. Thats the whole point of fighting the infection. You get that bonus. And its 1 skill per 10 levels so even better

I think the idea is that only people who are not fighting the infection would bid on this item. I also expect that she halved the effect on purpose. She also proposed cannibalism, which is a similar item for the flip side - allowing users to attack the same horde as them, but with a penalty. Her idea seems to be to make it so (for the users who can afford these items at the AH), you can have your cake and still eat a little of it, too.

Make-up quiz: You can mark two answers instead of one, if one is right, you pass. Does not work in the Olympics Option exists under accelaration tab (you get it after a level)

I think you misunderstood the idea. She wanted it so instead of a set of 4 radio buttons where you had to pick one answer, you had 4 checkboxes and could check 2 of them, and if either one was correct, you would get the bonus.

This one in particular would be off the scale: "Cheaper shopping: All items you buy at the soulhuckster cost 30% less".

If the powers that be agree that this is gamebreaking, they can pick a number that they think isn't gamebreaking.

Idézet: LydonB - 2010.07.28. 23:03:20
Also, "Cannibalism: You can attack your own horde, but with lesser gains or an ability penalty" - This will end up with everyone fighting the infection. Since the benefit of 100% infection is gained whilst the ability penalty would be mitigating by the 0% infection bonus.

No, turn it around. What it would mean is only players who are fighting the infection would bid on this item. It's not like everyone would be able to just go down to the soul huckster and buy one.

Idézet: LydonB - 2010.07.28. 23:03:20
The ideas look great from a players point of view; yet one must consider everything. Most of these suggestions will simply destabilise the whole game.

Some of them are helpful though, especially the regeneration reduction of epic monsters.

If the powers that be really are looking at implementing some of these, I would suggest that you be more specific and list all the ones that you think are destabilizing. You never know, maybe they'll actually take your opinions into account, even if you're not pink and cuddly.

Wow... And this isn't specialized knowledge?

Higher level dimension item: if you slay a dimension gate monster and get an item, the item you get will be approx 15 levels higher than it would normally be.

How about an item that would increase your chances of finding an item on each DG victory?

More effective kennel: Your pets get 25% extra experience when training in the kennel.

I would change this to a straight bonus to your intelligent pet skill. Much easier to implement and affects both kennels and duels.

Idézet: MsPiggy - 2010.07.28. 14:35:39
Lower waiting time: The time you need to wait to attack a player again is reduced by 25%

Again, it would be simpler to just have a bonus to your continuum diminution skill.

Make-up quiz: You can mark two answers instead of one, if one is right, you pass. Does not work in the Olympics

This one would be a pain to implement. I'd rather they put the work into a solution that would allow them to actually run the Olympics again. All they really need is something that can generate an image containing text. Display the question as one image, and each answer as individual images. Then take the quiz id and the answer ids, append a separator character and a timestamp to them, and run them through a basic encryption algorithm. That will make it so every time you get the same question, it will appear as a new id, so the hackers' scripts won't be able to tell it was the same question, and they won't be able to just compare the text of the question or answers (the image urls will need the same treatment, so they can't just compare the urls).

4) Epic monsters regenerate 10% less
5) Epic monsters have 10% less HP

If the epic has 10% less HP, they will also implicitly regenerate 10% less, so I'd just pick one of those.

Hmm...wouldn't it be nice if this was implemented into the game, just like this forum...
I don't know much about programming, but there's lots of sites with chatboxes, I see no reason why we couldn't have one here...

I do know a lot about programming, and I also see no reason why we couldn't have a live chat integrated here.

In the game I played before finding Doomlord, they had an in-game chat that was only available to premium users. Back in the heyday of that game, people paid real money to be premium just because they couldn't bear to live without the camaraderie of that chat. To be effective, though, the chat has to appear on every page, so figuring out the screen real estate on Doomlord might not be easy.

Next time write here the whole question and the answers. So the quiz admin can edit it or remove it from the database.

That would be a lot easier if there were a way to go back and see (a few) past questions and answers.

In the UFC 116 main event, who won the match via submission in the 2nd round?

Does UFC really qualify as a broadly known sport to be included in the quiz???

UFC? eh... what's that? know of UFOs but that has nothing to do with sports.

Ultimate Fighting something or other. Boxing with no rules. I think drinking lots of beer might be required to understand the appeal.
