Bertrand Russell has two l's at the end. That may or may not have been the cause of rejection.

Thank you, I never noticed. I corrected and re-entered. Should know soon...

Can anyone tell me where the ambigous section is in this question. I thought it would be easy with correct spelling, 2 fairy tale characters and a cartoon dog that should narrow the answer down to the anatomical part of the human body. I'm just asking, if I get a stupid answer or one that makes no sense, please stand by for some questions.

From what I found, it's "Mylohyoid", not "Mylo-Hyoid". Also, it's an adjective, not a noun - in complete, grammatically correct, english: "Mylohyoid muscle".

But I'm not an evaluator, so I hope I helped...

I went back to my anatomy book and found where I got the hyphenated word from. It was on a diagram that had split the word due to space restraints and muscle had not been used because it was referring to the the molars, so thank you. It is a noun in that reference. I will correct it and see where it goes from there, once again thanks for pointing that out.

One parsec is approximately 3.262 light-years. Therefore one light-year is approximately 0.306560 parsecs, which is not included in the available options.

Anyway, just my 2c.

EDIT: In the thread "Why did i reject a question (stekkos)" an answer has been provided for the rejection.

The reason was that 0.333333 and 0.306601 are so close together they are forcing players that might even know the approximate value 0.3 to go searching for the next digits. It shouldnt though, as said many times a good question should allow players with an approximate knowleadge of the number/date to still answer without having to search.

Which of these Lord of the Rings main characters is the oldest?

Legolas the Elf
Gimli the Dwarf
Gandalf the Maia <---------
Frodo the Hobbit

I must say I am supprised - I would have expected over 50% of people to have got this right even if they were guessing. A quick google search on 'Gandalf the Maia' shows he is an immortal spirit rather than a human...

I wonder which special group they are referring to because I have seen a couple LOTR questions, maybe the special group that allows certain sports questions, nursery rhymes or comic books, but not block buster movies that have played internationally. lolz

Maybe they think that there is amatur doctors out there:)

About LOTR question, stekkos once explained specific group info using exactly LOTR analogy, in short if you have seen the movie you should be able to answer question. If you have to see it again just to know the answer of question it is probably too specific.
There is no mention about Gandalfs age in the movie ( normal or extended ones) and only reason why I know the answer is because I ve read it in the book (in epilog, not in normal story).

On the other hand I didn't know which form did the fireworks form in the 1st movie and it is too specific IMHO, but it was accepted and is still in database so you probs should be pissed.

The inventor of the 'Pap-test' was...
Greek. <---
Serbian.
British.
Swedish.
The question is valued as "Bad, incorrect question"!

It is plausible that the question was evaluated correctly, even though the 'Pap-test' is known worldwide (so it's pretty much like asking "what was the nationality of the inventor of penicillin").
Anyway, I was willing to let it go ... but ... as luck would have it, I got this question on my immediate next hunt:

The writer Leslie L. Lawrence is of ... nationality. (fill in the gap).
Bulgarian
American
Hungarian <--
British

I evaluated it the first time (the spelling was mentioned at my rejected questions topic also) I was a bit sceptic about the Isle of Man mentioned as a country but after searching a bit it does not sound as a wrong way to put it.

1. The island is not a member of the European Union, UK is
2. The island is not part of the United Kingdom, but its foreign relations and defence are the responsibility of the UK Government.
3. The island's own parliament and government have competence over all domestic matters
4. It issues its own notes, although the currency is the pound sterling

All these makes calling it a country quite ok by my opinion. If the evaluator of the second time cares to clarify it would be even more enlightening

And Petel87, knowing which was the first country to give women a right to vote is hardly specific knowleadge!

I think an undeniable fact is that the Isle of Man is not a member of the United Nations, therefore cannot be considered anything more than a territory or a principality.

Oh and in regard to THAT question... currently 66% of respondents get it right (blast LOL)

Which of the following famous Greeks is a fictional character?

Zorba. <-- correct
El Greco.
Vangelis.
Maria Callas.

The question is valued as "Bad, incorrect question"!
According to evaluators your question is ambiguous.

El Greco is a famous painter of the 16th century, Maria Callas a famous opera singer of the 50s and Vangelis a contemporary music composer. Any googling will bring these items first. Then Zorba is a fictional character depicted in the Kazantakis's novel "Zorba the Greek". Any googling will bring this answer first.

Anyone see any ambiguity?

Maybe because there are probably real Greeks named Zorba? Or there might be fictional novels featuring characters named El Greco or something. Seems clear enough to me, though, so I would have accepted it, personally.
