The 1981 German film 'Das Boot' tells the story of?

A German submarine crew.
The history of German boot making.
A comedy about a pair of red shoes.
A punk-rock band.

The question is valued as "Bad, incorrect question"!
According to evaluators only a special group of people might know the answer.

Was my mistake in identify that it was a German film without saying that it has been dubbed into English and shown at least in England both at the pictures and several times on the TV? Is this what made the reviewer reject the question?

If you use 'alltheweb.com' as your search engine the first hit is an English Wikki artical about the film and giving you the answer so its not hard to find out if you did not see the film yourself - and is always going to be the way you have to check any film or book if you have not personally read it recently.

The main reason it was rejected should be the german language of the film. Even if it was dubbed, it was not a film released for the English speaking audience. It was agreed that all questions about books, comics, films etc will be accepted if it was released, or ciculated widely translated, in English

What the hell is this?

A brick weighs 2kg and half a brick, how much do 2 bricks weigh?
4kg
2kg
12kg
8kg

So 1 brick + 1/2 brick = 3kg so 3kg * 2 = 8kg ????

Give me a break!

and this....

Compared to a human population of 6 billion, which species numbers under 200,000?
Bison
Chimpanzee
Gray wolf
All of the above

What do you mean compared? Compare how? Why? What does that have to do with anything? Compared to an apple being red, what rugby player scored the most points at the 1954 match in Seville vs. England?

Another bad quiz question....

what was the last American warship sunk in WW2 ?
USS Hornet
USS Enterprise
USS Indianapolis
USS Shark

The last Navy ship to be officially recorded as being sunk by enemy action in WW2 was the USS Bullhead (SS-332), on 6 August 1945, the day Hiroshima was attacked. A Balao-class submarine, the Bullhead was sunk by engagement from a Japanese Army aircraft, which dropped depth charges on the Bullhead, claiming 2 direct hits. The geographic area she was in when sunk is believed to have reduced her radar range, and thus prevented her from detecting the plane until it was too late.

Though the initial answer to this question mentioned the Indianapolis, that answer is incorrect. The Indianapolis was sunk by a Japanese submarine on 29 July 1945, over a week prior to the Bullhead.

The last U.S. ship sunk was the submarine USS Bullhead SS 332 sunk by the Japanese aircraft on August 6, 1945 at the west end of Lombok Strait.

Did you get those two rejected?

As to the 1st one. one brick weighs 4 kg. Has been explained numerous times. It's simple maths: X = 2 + X/2 => X = 4 => 2X = 8. So this question should not be rejected.

"All of the above" is not a good answer, as it might be the 1st option when the player sees the question.

This is an example of a specialized question:
Alizée Jacotey is a ________ Singer ?

What makes this any different as far as "specialized"?

In Star Trek what was the Halodeck?

a simulated reality facility located on starships and starbases
where they kept the halos of dead angels
term used to describe a hollow deck
the cafeteria on board the space ship

The question is valued as "Bad, incorrect question"!
According to evaluators only a special group of people might know the answer.

But i get rejected for a Fn' Star Trek question when I know for a fact I have answered Star Trek questions before! Where is the consistency guys? C'mon, I thought this was getting worked out.

Why not make it possible for an evaluator to send a possible "special group" question to another evaluator to get a second opinion so if it does get rejected at least the person who submitted it can feel that it was rejected based on more than 1 person's limited knowledge or bias intelligence.

You are correct. When Snapple first came out in the 80's that was it's slogan but I recently saw a commercial where they have changed it to "the finest ingredients" I was hoping to throw people off with that but I see there are some with a keen sense of memory like yourself. Good job BTW!! More comments should be like yours, I'm serious, it offered a possible correction and wasn't phrased where it could be sarcastic or negative, I for one appreciate that.

The question reads as follows;

a brick weighs 2kg;
X = 2kg

and a half brick;

X=2kg + 2kg/2

therefore X = 3kg. So 2 * 3kg = 6kg. The way that you set up the equation X = 2 + X/2 treats the variable X as if it's unknown, when in fact the way the question is phrased it weighs 1kg.

Compared to it being 6º outside both questions are nonsense.

No it reads:

a brick weighs 2kg and half a brick:

X = 2kg + X/2

If your interpretation was correct then you need to add 3 + 1/2 * 3 = 4.5 kg but then it becomes 4.5 + 1/2 * 4.5 = 6.75 .... etc. definitely.

Or you have two different sized bricks, one that's 2kg and one that's 3 kg, now which one do you want two of?

Edit: P.s. Why are you arguing against your own questions, this is the "My quiz question was rejected" thread

AS I SAID BEFORE, WHAT SPECIALIZED GROUP ARE YOU REFERING TO, THE SAME ONE THAT ASKED THIS QUESTION?!?!

In Star Trek, Captain Sisko was a main character in which series?
Star Trek Deep Space Nine
Star Trek Enterprise
Star Trek Next Generation
Star Trek Voyager

MAYBE THATS WHY MY QUESTION NEVER GOT A RESPONCE. SO PLEASE TELL ME ONCE AGAIN WHY MY QUESTION WAS REALLY REJECTED, AND YOU CAN BE HONEST CAUSE THE FIRST EXCUSE WAS A LIE!!
If by chance you forgot which one I am referring to:

term used to describe a hollow deck

Hello, I've got an evaluation "According to evaluators only a special group of people might know the answer." for the following question:

How is one of the biochemical processes named?

Krebbs cycle
Moon cycle
Gibbs cycle
bicycle

Ok, I understand that probably that's not a piece of knowledge known by everybody from the childhood. But right know in a row of about 15 questions I have got the following two:

http://floomby.ru/content/qFzaOvLJgU/

What controls the rate of chemical reactions in your body?
Messenger RNA
DNA
Enzymes
Carbohydrates

http://floomby.ru/content/BB3jMRZXUW/

What is the first law of thermodynamics?
The entropy of an isolated macroscopic system never decreases
The temperature in a perfect crystal is 0 K
Energy can be transformed, but cannot be created or destroyed
That the Gibbs free energy of a process is always 0

Do you really think that these two accepted questions are less special? In my suggested test two questions are really silly and funny, and the choice is actually between two. Not too complicated, is it?

I'm not mentioning an evil question about number of symbols in some exotic alphabet - as I do not have an exact qoute at the moment. But if I face it once again, I will post it as a demonstration of knowlegde that is supposed to be commonly known

Actually my question is not why my test was rejected - the reason was clearly given. But what the hell is a supposed level of "non-special questions"? I doubt that EVERYBODY can answer the two questions i've quoted without books or Google...

Some biochemical processes are named by the person or persons that discovers/describes them, and sometimes named after them. But you need to specify which one for people to have any chance of looking it up.

Krebs cycle is not the name of a process by which any of the biochemical processes was named, but a name for the citric aside cycle, a biochemical process.

Try resubmitting it as "Which of these is a biochemical process?" and I would have passed it, if I had been an evaluator that is. It's as good a question as many others.

Oh and it's Krebs cycle, not Krebbs cycle.

Both of the questions you posted as an example are tought to highschool students at my country, ages 15-17 depending on their chosen classes. I am sure a lot other countries have those information as part of their biology/physics classes since both questions are basic info on each subject. Your question asks something quite more specific.

Ok, many thanks for both comments.

First, sorry for misprint. Believe me or not, it was really a misprint and then looking at what I am writing I persuaded myself it was correct.

Second, as far as I understand now hidhschool level is appropriate for questions. I agree 100% that Krebs cycle is out of it in most countries (although Gibbs cycle is, and the correct answer could be found excluding incorrect ones )

Now I am in doubts - is here a proper place to complain of the questions that (in my opinion) are far more specific that highschool level? Or this thread is to discuss own rejects only?

Just googled all 4 of the "candidates" and only one has won a Nobel Prize. Strange, I thought Mendeleev had won one also, but he didn't. So I would support you in the claim that it should have been rejected for language/spelling not the stated reason.
