spelling is for sure one reason but i also would say it's a special question.. knowing that there was a battle at Midway is okay but to know such a detail about it is not a common knowledge. if you want to stick to it, you could ask for example who was the chief Japanese commander of the battle, or in which war did it take place, or something that can be known by a wider range of people.

You can't correct it. If you find a mistake in your own question you can write me a private message (quote the exact question text and write the necessary correction). If I read your message before evaluation, I can correct it.

don't know the exact reason but maybe 'Which actress has won the most Oscars' would be nicer. anyhow, there is a question like this in the database so i guess you should think of something else to ask

I just had the following question rejected:

What Major League ballpark is famous for having an ivy-covered outfield wall?

Fenway Park
Wrigley Field
Yankee Stadium
Camden Yards

The question is valued as "Bad, incorrect question"!
According to evaluators only a special group of people might know the answer.

After seeing questions about soccer, cycling, and other sports that I know nothing about, I figured a question a baseball question would be fine. I guess not. Would it be safer to ask about a player or about rules, or should I just avoid asking about baseball altogether?

Saint Philip the Apostle
King Philip II of Spain
General Philip Henry Sheridan

The question is valued as "Bad, incorrect question"!

a)
What does, besides Jerry, appear in every single episode of "Seinfeld"?

Statue of Liberty
Superman
Kramer
George

The question is valued as "Bad, incorrect question"!
According to evaluators only a special group of people might know the answer.

1. The question is "what", not "who", so 2 answers can be eliminated right away.
2. I do not know one person that didn't watch Seinfeld (not all of them would know the answer, but it's not the point that 100% do...)
3. This is an interesting fact about an series that lasted for over 12 years, 11 seasons made, that's several hundred episodes... And something connects them all. I find that interesting, and believe that people would appreciate to learn that kind of facts.
4. I do not want to even begin to compare this question to all others, starting the Dragonlance novels and going on after that...

b)
I propose that 25% rule is applied only after more people tried to answer the question. It is not the same if first 3 people in a row fail, and the Q is automatically revoked, or when out of 10-20 people, 3/4 don't know the answer...

I suppose you mean the Philippines as in the group of islands...in that case you should use were instead of was.

I have reviewed my question several times, I have checked for grammer, spelling, and correctness and yet it continues to be returned by your server as having an error. I have obtained this information from the National Park Foundation and have also contacted them to verify this information. If you feel that the question has errors would you please provide me with what type of error you are finding. My question was submitted as follows: On what upper New York Bay does the Statue of Liberty reside? answer possiblities: Governor's Island, Ellis Island, Staten Island and Liberty Island. The correct answer would be (Liberty Island). Please review this question again and advise where the error was found.

I asked a question about metalocalypse, the cartoon. you say this is special knowlege. Well why is there questions about towns in macedonia allowed? What is the difference between these questions when referring to special knowledge?

DarkHelmet, post the entire question you asked, and someone may be able to help. Also, remember the information should appeal to an international audience. So, unless it was a very general question about the cartoon, it is rare someone besides a select few americans would know the answer.

If I had written 'The Philippine islands,' I would have agreed with you (in which case the question would be wrong since each island's name would have a different origin) but I wrote 'The Philippines,' referring to the country, which was named after King Philip II of Spain by Ferdinand Magellan.
But I appreciate the input
