s5jst, i honestly don't know why you got the ambigous evaluation.. it's a nice question and should have been accepted. maybe someone else has an idea.

@Svante64 : i guess it was because of Terminator - though sequels got their number so it shouldn't be. but a bit of spelling errors is obviously there in your question

I'm sure the issue was the grammar errors, though if I were evaluating it, I'd put that in the spelling category, rather than calling it ambiguous. "Haven't" is misspelled, but "movie" is singular, so it would be "hasn't" anyway, except that directing a movie is a one time thing, so it should be "wasn't" instead of "hasn't been".

This is yet another example of why the game would be better if evaluators had a space where they could explain their judgments.

One of the explicit categories that are supposed to be accepted is "Elementary school general knowledge questions." My daughter, who is in elementary school, covered the Doppler effect. They obviously didn't cover the calculus behind it, but they went over what happens when a train passes you (the sound of its horn - which is the frequency of the wave - gets lower), and the fact that frequency and wavelength are inversely proportional. That's all you need to answer the question correctly.

This is a question I submitted, and, I might have agreed with the evaluation if not for the fact that I posted this question as a result of another question asking me to idenify the colors of another countries flag. If I am supposed to know the colors of another countries flag, why can't someone in another country know about my flag ??
I find the Evaluators to be very one-sided in their evaluations of the submitted questions. If this is a paid position, where do I sign up, I can sit around and reject questions for stupid reasons too, and I guarantee there wil never be a back log of questions waiting to be answered because I can reject most of them too. For the same reasons, lack of desire to verify questions.

You are correct on the fact that your question should have passed. It is not a matter of one sided evaluation, more like how each interperts the rules. For that reason a common effort is underway to create a specific guideline for all to stop this.

On another note, i have seen already questions passing asking what the stars in the flag mean and about the flags colors. Just to reassure you it is nothing to do with the fact you asked about the US flag, you maybe even got unlucky and a player evaluated your question without him being a proper evaluator. It can happen if too many questions are submitted at once and overflow the waiting line.

Ok, A) isn't the easiest question in the quiz, but is FAR from "ambiguous". There is NO debate about Question B), and having this rejected is a farce.


I've been playing for two days, and these are the first two questions I've asked. If this is any indication of the crap I'm going to have to put up with, just tell me now so I can stop wasting any more time on this game. And I've already gone out and bought Stones, so that tells you how "irritated" I am right now).

Oh, and even better; I wrote these to finish the first quest. So now I can't even ask another question. I really want to hear from a moderator on this, because right now, none of my thoughts towards this game are very positive.

Nemesis, your questions are not ambiguous bad they fall in the special knowleadge section. Granded the evaluation reason was wrong, but they wouldnt pass anyway. If you really want to post about baseball, try to stick to more general questions like, record holders, either teams or players (please input the year since it might change in the future), or famous world class events. In all, try to be a question that someone that knows nothing about baseball, or any sport, will find it at least justified as general trivia.
