How many more?

Just had the question: "Who wrote the Symposium?"

Four answers and the 'correct' answer was Plato. However, one of the other answers was Xenophon, who also wrote a Symposium.

Please find better people to check these questions!!

What is it called when you knock down all of the pins in bowling?
Strike (marked correct)
Split
Gutter
Spare

Both strike and spare are correct since the question doesn't state whether they are all knocked down in one shot or if you can use two balls either way they are all knocked down might one to clarify this.

Just had this question:

Who discovered oxygen?
Joseph Priestly
Issac Newton
Issac Asimov
Michael Faraday

With the correct answer being acknowledged as Joseph Priestly.

In actual fact:

Oxygen was independently discovered by Carl Wilhelm Scheele, in Uppsala, in 1773 or earlier, and Joseph Priestley in Wiltshire, in 1774, but Priestley is often given priority because his publication came out in print first.

So there is no error, the agreed fact is that Priestley is regognized as the first, even if it is by a detail. Furthermore, the question asks who discovered, not who was the first to discover.

Sports questions are just as legitimate as literature questions, mythology questions or any myriad of other major topics in the quiz. This is something that the Mods have had trouble accepting, mostly thanks to narrow-minded people like yourself.

As for soccer/football specifically, I would suggest that more people have played the sport than have heard of Stephen King or owned/read a bible - so just because YOU don't like a topic (as I hate literature and inventor questions), that does not cancel out their legitimacy.

How many countries are in the Arabian peninsula?

answers included 10 and 6.

6 given as correct answer.

"The peninsula's constituent countries are Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Yemen and Saudi Arabia. The northern part of the peninsula is the Syrian Desert, which also includes northeastern Jordan, southeastern Syria, and western Iraq."

The answer should be 7 (complete countries) or 10 (if part countries are included).

I bought it and it is costly, but I use it for hanging only. What am I?
a pair of earrings (correct)
a picture
window blinds
a car

still a silly question. A car can be used for 'hanging' only, as can a picture.

It's worse than that. The question is "What am I?", not "What is it?". So the answer to the question should be the thing that does the buying and the using, not the thing that is bought and used. So the correct answer should be a person or something.
