Quote: JohNed - 2010.10.17. 14:26:51 How is this a good question?
Marc and Jane have been married 40 years. Marc wants to marry his widow's sister, but that's impossible. Why?
Jane's sister is dead
It's illegal to have another wife
Marc is dead <--
They are too old
Huh??? Can this really be considered a good question? How can Marc want to marry his widow's sister if he is dead? Why can't the answer be Jane's sister is dead? Seem incredibly ambiguous (and stupid) to me.
I guess it does come under the multiple answer categories, but it says his widows sister... she can only be a widow if he himself is dead.
Man I've had a bad day with questions today.
About how much percent of the humankind is right-handed?
88 <-- right
95
75
99
No-one knows. It depends on the category of people you are sampling. If they are the average adult, when they were young they were sometimes forced to use their right hand. Nowadays, it's more natural. The first google said 88%, so I was lucky, but still, the second link said 93%...
What is the tallest type of tree in the world?
Oak
Elm
Birch
Sequoia <-- right
Any consistency? If you're going to give one half of a latin name, do it for the others? Why is the question purposefully trying to confuse us? Anyway, I think I've seen a similar question before with Californian Redwood as the answer.
I never was and am always to be, no one has ever seen me nor ever will, and yet I am the reason anyone ever bothers to live and breathe. What am I?
Timbuktu
Tomorrow <-- right
Turbulence
Time
I got this right, but I don't like the fact that time and tomorrow are too similar.
Modern surfboards are most commonly made of?
Plastic
Fiberglass <-- right
It's fiberglass layered on top of Polystyrene.. Who's allowing these through!?
Which of these rivers does not flow through Portugal?
Guadiana
Douru
Tagus
Guadalquivir <-- right
I got this right too, but man was it boring. If it was which of these rivers DOES flow through Portugal then OK, I can grit my teeth and work through it, but which one isn't is just too much.
London's tower bridge, is what type of bridge?
Suspension
Combined Bascule and Suspension <-- right
The question is right, but it's misleading since it is a suspension bridge and again, the question is trying to catch us out. I don't like it.
Which of these isn't a capital city?
Belgrade
Bangalore <-- Right
Beirut
Bangkok
All of them are capital cities. Bangalore is the capital city of the state of Karnataka in India. Even if it isn't a traditional capital city, it's still ambiguous.
