True but it still has a bad ring in it. Specially when only place that phrase is mentioned is in Gospel of John itself.

Is true the question has to include the word most. It was John, there is no real debate that has any grounds about that. But dark is right in regards to the question making it sound as if Jesus only loved him.

What is not part of Canada?
Baffin Island
Victoria Island
North Island
Somerset Island

Not sure how this is useful knowledge

This question helps you learn 3 areas that are part of Canada. Now if someone does not care about geography then ofcourse it is not going to find this usefull. This does not cancell the fact that the question helps you learn something.

And apart from that, it can hardly be called anything other than specialist knowledge, but it can be easily googled.

"Samsung" is an International maker of...

TV and video equipment
all the above <-- correct
computers
mobile phones

Another instance of bad use of "all the above" - should be changed to "all of these".

There was a question asking which of four countries was not governed by a dictatorship in the 20th Century.

The options were

Germany
Italy
Spain
France

The expected answer was France - however the Vichy government was a dictatorship and was recognised as the official Government by most of the world including America through 1941 and most of 1942. The Free French under de Gaul were only recognised later.

Vichy goverment was a nazi puppet, so technically it was not French goverment. It was the same as if Germany had occupied the whole of France and gave Vichy half of it.

Which of these is not a romance language?
French
Romanian
English
Spanish

Although there is nothing wrong with this question, there is another question asking:

Which of these is a romance language?
German
English
Portugese
Urdu

So it's basically a repeat question.

I believe this question is confusing

Who was the ruler of France in the years 885-888?
Pepin the Short
Charles the Fat
Charles II the Bald
Chlodio the Longhair

The lsit of french kings of that period is

Charles I the Bald 840–877
Louis II the Stammerer 877–879
Louis III 879–882
Carloman 879–884
Charles II the Fat 884–887

So the Charles are the wrong way around... the Fat one is Charles II not Charles I and visa versa

The man that shaves in the morning loves his work. The man that shaves in the evening loves his wife. What does a man who shaves two times a day like?
both
noone
booze
shaving

All 4 possible answers could be considered correct, and the question in itself is nonsense. I have known unmarried men that shaved in the evening, thy can't really love their wife can they? And I have met men that did shave in the morning an disliked their job...... OK it's probably a fun quote from somewhere (though I have not been able to find it via google), but it's not a good quiz question.

Which former republic of Yugoslavia is the only member of EU?
Croatia
Macedonia
Serbia
Slovenia <- marked as correct

Croatia applied for membership in 2004. Macedonia applied in 2004, and will probably join by 2010–2015 so this question does need a date, or preferably be changed to "Which former republic of Yugoslavia was the first to become member of the EU?"

The musical Les Misérables is based on the book of the same title, was written by which author?

Jean Valjean
Ayn Rand
Victor Hugo <--- correct
Pierre Boulez

The way the question is written, although grammatically incorrect, strongly implies that it is asking who actually wrote the musical, instead of the book (and the word author sounds funny in that context).
From the available options and the correct answer, it is apparent that it is the author of the book that is queried about.

This question needs to be rewritten simply as "Who was the author of the famous book Les Misérables?"

a question asks which book in the bible is after genesis, but ALL of the books in the bible are after genesis. the question does not ask which directly follows genesis.

a question asks how many seasons of dragon ball z are there. if questions about comics are prohibited because they are known only to a special group, then it seems pretty unreasonable to ask everyone to know the number of seasons of a cohort-specific anime. this is not general knowledge.

Watched the movie (~1975), watched the movie (~2008), or read the book in school or in leisure time, or seen any of the dozen+ spoofs on tv, and not have access to Google (or any search engine)... Basically not have lived in a cave. for the last 1/2 century.

There are 2 steps of a ladder underwater on a boat. If the water rises 1 step per 30 minutes, how many steps will be underwater after 1.5 hours?

2 marked correct, but is wrong. Yes, I understand that if water rises, the boat *should* as well. However, if the water rises, then it cannot be measured by "steps". Including Steps clearly indicates that the water is rising against a stationary measure. The boat could be in dry-dock, and not floating at all.

At best, ambiguous. In reality - based on how the question is asked - wrong.
