"Even old New York was once New Amsterdam" is a lyric from what They Might be Giants song?
Ho Chi Minh City (Not Saigon)
Mumbai (Not Bombay)
St. Petersburg (Not Leningrad)
Istanbul (Not Constantinople) <- marked as correct

Isn't this a bit on the specialist side? Luckily I managed to google it in time. I have never heard the song, and the only place I have ever heard of it was in this quiz, same goes for the Band/Group.

Never was I am always to be.No one ever saw me,nor ever will.Yet I am the confidence of all,to live and breathe on this terrestrial ball. What am I?

What the puck is this???

Starting to get really tired of these utterly meaningless riddles.

In the poker game "Texas Hold'em", what are the 2 cards called that are dealt face down to every player?
Pocket Rockets
Hole Cards
Down Cards
Pocket Cards

I've seen it referred to as both pocket and rocket cards.

"Even old New York was once New Amsterdam" is a lyric from what They Might be Giants song?
According to wikipedia, the single reach #61 on UK charts in 1990. That's neither popular or recent and yes it's googleable, but otherwise the answer isn't obvious so I personally think it's a bad question.

There was a question asking what Malamutes used for in world war 2

Knowing that

During World War II, Malamutes were inducted into the army for the purpose of guarding installations in their native Alaska

What is the Worlds Deadliest Snake?
Blue Krait
Australian Brown Snake
Inland Taipan
Mohave Rattlesnake

This is a matter of opinion only! Some sites give the Inland Taipan as the answer while others say Black Mamba and others also not mentioned here!

Which weapon is inflicting cut injuries?
Shovel
Rapier
Hammer
Sword

Given that a Rapier is a type of sword, it too can cause cut injuries. Therefore, there are two possible answers here. Please change!

Which city made Monopoly famous?

How is the answer 'London' correct and yet 'Atlantic City' is incorrect? May we know the basis for this strange decision? I can find nothign to suggest that London made the game more popular anywhere except in UK.

Who is a Hibernian?
A person who stays indoors in cold weather
A resident of northern Russia
An inhabitant of Ireland
A Turkish soldier

Although Hibernia is the old Roman name for Ireland, any of these could be Hibernian as there is a Soccer team of that name and they could be players, ex-players or supporters!

Time for a little physics, I just got this question:

how many times does sun revolve around earth in a year ?
twelve
six
zero <- marked as correct
one

The correct answer however is, one. The Sun and the Earth revolves around a common centre of gravity, (somewhere close to the centre of the sun), once each year, this is what defines a year. So the Earth revolves around the Sun once a year, while the Sun revolves around the Earth once a year.

Except for diseases, what is the most common reason of human deaths?

Given cause is road accident... But the question is highly ambiguous. When are we talking about? Where are we talking about? What constitutes "war" (African ethnic and tribal warfare springs to mind).

Getting a definitive global answer is probably more than we can reasonably request, so the question should probably get the boot.

The common way when reffering to the Earth-Sun system (which does operate how you mentioned) is that the Earth orbits the sun. So the sun is considered to be the stationary part in this system. Also the center of gravity for both is so close to the center of the sun that the sun is almost orbiting around its axis anyway, not around Earth. Strictly speaking you are correct but the question can still be accepted. Is the same as asking how the sun moves on the sky, we say East to West, although is the Earth rotating West to East that creates the daily cycle.

Since one is the correct scientific answer, as you yourself say, as long as both zero and one are options, the question is ambiguous. But I'll just take note of the question, and hope no one corrects it.

Are you seriously trying to make the argument that a rotation point near the center of the sun means that the earth not only orbits the sun, but the sun orbits the earth? Are you REALLY that anal-retentive? How about going to moderate Trivial Pursuit, and stop wasting your evidently considerable talents complaining about points of insignificance on a GAME SITE!

If you're going to bitch about music questions, let's hear your take on this one:

What year did MTV Unplugged( a 10,000 Maniacs CD) come out?
Artist 10,000 Maniacs
Type Album
Released October 26, 1993
Rating 3.60 from 416 ratings
Ranked #311 for 1993

However, it did only take me about 20 seconds to find the answer.

And what's your point? (apart from you apparently not liking me)
P.s. I did not complain about a title, but that the question asked what song a piece of lyrics was from. And as long as googleability is not part of the official guidelines, you finding it in 20 seconds is irrelevant.

The point is that you seem to have nothing better to do than complain about things over minuscule or insignificant issues

Actually, if you would read the forum as much as you post on it, you would see that Googlability is now a legitimate factor in determining the viability of a question.
