Here is another quiz error.

How Tall is the Statue of Liberty?

151 Feet 1 Inch
131 Feet 1 Inch
121 Feet 1 inch
141 Feet 1 Inch

the question itself is wrong, since there are more than 1 statue of liberty in the world. haven't you watched the movie National Treasure? The question should specify what statue of liberty is being talked about. But i believe this question is about the statue in U.S.A. So, to avoid misunderstanding, i believe that this question should be more specific.

Only partially true, as the Statue in France is not refered to as the "Statue of Liberty" she is refered to as Little Liberty

as far as i know, first there were 12 Olympians who are considered to be major gods:

Zeus
Hera
Poseidon
Hermes
Hestia
Demeter
Aphrodite
Athena
Apollo
Artemis
Ares
Hephaestus

Dionysos was offered a seat later and Hades was not generally included in the twelve as spending almost all of his time in the underworld he did not have a seat in the pantheon.

Someone asked 'How many Major Gods are there in Greek Mythology? The selection of answers are 12, 13, 14 and 15. The answer given was 12. But correct me if I am wrong, I believe there are 14 and they are:

I understand what you are saying, but the question is specific - How many Major Gods are there in Greek Mythology? Not How many Olympic Gods were there in Greek Mythology? The question should be more specific!!

I just had a question, sorry, I didn't copy it.
If I remember right it asked:
What vessel takes deoxygenated blood to the heart?

And had one example in the question which I do not remember, and the "correct" answer is Pulmonary Vein

But, this is incorrect.
Pulmonary veins carry oxygenated blood.

It is a common misconception that all veins carry de-oxygenated blood.

In fact the correct answer to the question is either superior vena cava or the inferior vena cava.

Neither of which was listed.

In what continent Toronto and Buenos Aires are?
Europe
Asia
Africa
America

America isn't an continent. South America and North America are. These two towns are not on the same continent. This question needs to be removed.

There are numerous ways of distinguishing the continents:

The seven-continent model is usually taught in China and most English-speaking countries. This is what you have in mind

The six-continent combined-America model is taught in Latin America, and most parts of Europe including Germany, Greece, Italy, Portugal and Spain.

So you cant be absolute about that, as long as the answers are not confusing (since either way the answer is America) there is no need to remove the question.

It depends...
The same can be asked about "Higher Deities"

It doesn't matter if an Aura is a myth or not... the definition for an Aura (in this sense) is still "energy that surrounds the body"

Just as a Unicorn is considered a myth, and yet I am sure you could descibe what one looks like.

I agree with this but would like to add that more ppl see it as a 7 continent model then a 6 continent model. So the fact that there are multiple models should deem this question to be removed. Because only a specialized group off people would agree to the answer.

"Who or what won the first Nobel Prize for peace?"

The Correct Answer is indeed correct.

But I (in haste) chose the International Red Cross

Why?

Because Jean Henry Dunant also shared the first Nobel Peace Prize with the Correct Answer.
Dunart was awarded it for....founding the the International Red Cross.

So....that needs to be fixed.

Because a question with 2 Correct answers as choices is flawed.

(Yes, I ommitted what the Correct Answer is because of the Quiz Olympics.)

As i pointed out, although you are absolutely right, the problem would be a question of the type: "" how many continents are there?""
But the current question is not affected by this since the only possible answer is America, even if a player doesnt agree with that. Ofcourse as always is up to the admins, if they read these posts and decide it is deemed for removal, by all means, kick it out.

Ok, I can't ask the team name of an NFL or NHL team, which can be found in seconds thru ANY search engine... Yet you allow this:?

Which of these novels is not by Willa Cather?
Little House on the Prairie
O Pioneers!
The Song of the Lark
My Antonia

I really hope you could get over the angy mood and see reason. First of all, can you name all the team names of NFL, even if you are a US citizen? Even if you do, can you say the same for most of the people you know? How can you expect a specific question about a sport that it is LOCAL to one country, even as big as USA, be considered the same as asking something as general as an author of a book. If the question was about a character in the book then that would fal in the same category as your question. And as for googling, both questions can be found in seconds, but that is not the basis for a good question.

First, stek..I made a new topic if you want to continue a debate about the Quiz Evalutaion flaws.....and allow this to be left for Quiz Errors.

Ok...I found another question that was poorly researched.

What is the most common cause of cirrhosis ?

Alcohol Abuse
Hepatitis B
Hepatitis C
Hepatitis D

The answer that is "Correct" is not true.
It may be the case in the UK or Europe...but worldwide...
it happens to be Hepatitis B

okay, the original question was corrected to:
When was the first printed newspaper in the world published?

A brief rundown of what I remember from college:
59 B.C. Romans produce handwritten news-sheets (done in china much earlier)
8th century: first newspaper published in China (handwritten), but started wood block printing shortly thereafter
1392: Movable copper type is invented in Korea
1447: Gutenberg - letterpress printing
1556: Venetian monthly newspaper within 10 years they were published weekly and distributed throughout Europe.
1605: "Relation" newspaper in Strasbourg
1621: London "Corante"
1631: 1st french paper - "The Gazette"
1639: 1st american colonies printing press (earlier news reports printed elsewhere)
1645: Sweden starts oldest paper still in circulation

My dates could be slightly off, but perhaps the question should be removed unless the original writer has a less ambiguous way to word the question

And...another:

Which of these animals has white fur?
Dear
Bison
Lion
Polar Bear

The "correct" answer is a misconception. It appears to be white.
Dear should have been spelled Deer

And..here is the kicker....

Every answer except the "correct" answer....does indeed have white fur.
Granted...not an entire coat, and not all breeds of each animal listed, but I could prove this...but not without giving the answer needed to pass this.

This question is like asking "Is a Zebra black with white stripes or white with black stripes."
and the Correct answer being "A goat"

Edit:
..ok...

A white tailed deer has a patch of white fur... (can you guess where?)
Lions have patches of hair under and or around their eyes.
A Bison is also known as a Buffalo..... and yes...they do exist.

Polar Bears on the other hand....have translucent (clear and devoid of color) fur.

So many idiotic questions in the quiz system . ( No , not international questions for god's sake )

For example :

How many people are in the US senate?

How should I know that , or care about how many people are in the US senate .

What is the name of Tolkien's dragon that lives in the Lonely Mountain?
