"The first coast-to-coast telephone line was established in what year?"

Which coasts are we talking about, and in which country?

Most people would hazard a guess that the question refers to the Continental US, and thus the East and West coasts.

However despite what a lot of Americans may think they aren't the only country in the world

Comics are forbidden in the quiz, isn't it?

Mercury is the innermost and smallest planet in the Solar System, orbiting the Sun once every ___ days?

I liked this one,but for the most people it is far too special, not common knowledge. If someone is not a hobby astronomer (like myself), he will have no chance to answer correctly(from own knowledge)! Please delete!

up to how much does a blue whale weigh?
250000 kg
125000 kg
136000 kg
100000 kg

This question needs to be deleted since technically there is no real way of knowing, since we can't actually weigh a blue whale. It is all just approximations and since it is approximations they shouldn't be allowed in quiz questions.

Which is not the last words of these men(before they died)?

Et tu mi fili (Brute)? (Julius Ceasar)
And yet it moves. (Galilei) -- marked as correct.
Mehr Licht! (More Light.!) (Goethe)
Don't disturb my circles! (Archimedes)

Just about every one of these "quotes" of last words, are disputed as being these individuals last words. How exactly are you supposed to chose which one is the answer?

Thanks,

I am not saying the question should stay, but i have to point out that we can weigh blue whales, some were unfortunately killed by whalers who weighted them. So there are at least some data to base the question on

Who was the first president of the United States of America?
Abraham Lincoln
George Washington <-- Marked as Correct
Thomas Jefferson
John Adams

The question either needs to be changed to ask "Who was the first President of the United States of America under the United States Constitution, or it needs to be deleated, because George Washington was the first President under the United States Constitution. John Hanson was in fact the first President of the United States of America.

http://www.marshallhall.org/hanson.html

Sorry Twink...but technically, Hanson was elected as "President of the Continental Congress"... not "President of the United States".
There is a difference...

Edited:
Sorry Jon, I completely overlooked your response...

Ok, your right, I and the Site Artical which I linked are wrong......wait that's not right.

While George Washington was the First "President of the United States under the Constitutioin", but as the artical and I have already stated. John Hanson wasn't the "President of the Constitutional Congress" , he was the first President of the United States under the Constitutional Congress".

He was still the President and was the President of the United States, in every sense of the word. It may have been the United States of America under the Contitutional Congress, but it was still The United States of America in which he was president over.
